HI Nemo how you been , back on topic Also and alliance can trade all their metal to a a set group of three or four. members so those members can buy out the auction. their buy benifiting the allaince while the buyers remain un-effected. buy the larg amounts of bids. they pay out. and is a type of collusionary tactic. that is unbenificial to the game. And auction house at the merchent. as over the long term. the higher ranked players can servive and challange each other mean while the lower ranks will be able to share in the benifits of the boosters . at a profit. so they can grow . gain exsperiance. and learn how to play so in the near futeure they can challange the older more exsperianced players. further more inturn this can lead to more new players joining up from word of mouth. amoungst friends and class mates. because they wont feel , chewed up and spit out like a old ham bone. and or dejected.

That should never happen.
Though i admit to doing 10 and 40k of metal jumps to try and discourage a fierce competition. Until i hit my price limit. IE the point where there's no profit in it.

I have been looking to see who I am bidding against. first if they are rank 1200 to 2010 . i wont bid against them if i do and i win i have sent them their bids back to them if it wasnt over three large cargos. of metal and crsytal. to be fair to them so they play longer. And I made a bidding guide I posted in the general section . also to go with the bid jamming rule. so the players can have a better idea of smart bidding .

The main thing to help make this rule work is to have. An SGO in the back room at all times watching the activity in the auction. as an example. at 09;44;58 this morning . in u44 i watched 3 players place 58 bids in 45 seconds.for a total of 62 bids now a SGO could have seen this activity and seen it was a clear case of bid jamming buy use of a bot. and or buy useing the lag of the auction to prevent others from bidding. (I.E.) begushing. a bannable offense.

Just because a large number of bids were made in a short time doesn't mean they are using bots. It could be that players were sitting on the auction page.

Can we please wait a few weeks and see if the behavior continues instead of trying to force a rule into place that may never be needed and may actually hurt more than it helps in the long run?

Normally I would agree with you CK but the auction has a 4 second lag also humans take 2 seconds to respond and make the bid . so 58 bids in 45 seconds aint going to happen. buy just sitting in the auction more so when one bid is 342,002 and the next right as that one posted the next bid posted up in1 second 348,002 every time you enter a number in the auction screen you have to clik behind it to enter the next number for a manully input bid. and when the timer lights the item for auction up it kicks you to the top of the screen. so no it was not a case of sitting and watching. at all. How ever i do think that watching the auction over the next two weeks will help to see if it levels out or if things still go the way they have been.

Ok so over the last few days I have captured on web cam a select few players useing the first example of bid jamming that i have in red type . to gain an unfair advantage from the current bid amount update lag. to prevent other bidders from winning any of the bids these players have done this on several occassions.and at different times. So to me and as i am sure some of the other players. this is an important rule to inact to keep civility in the auction houses.. and to keep auction grudges from spilling over into the game its self. with alot of he said she said playground fights.

Ok . this is a must have rule due to the fact that several players have complained about a few players useing the tactic of bidding every 3 to 5 seconds. in the last minute of the auction creating current bid update lag !<<<>> that prevents other players from being able to bid at all.<< also this will give tha game operators and sgo.s the tools they need to stop things like this so they do not have to tell every one it is just lag. and since there is no rules governing the auction at the moment, that is all the go.s can do. is claim it is lag. as their hands are tied, due to no auction house rules. I feel for the go.s due to this as they have to deal with mad players that feel ripped off. buy players who use begushing to win an auction. buy out right cheating. the few that due this are ruining the auction for the other bidders and corrupt the purpose of the auction. and that is to have more inter activity amongst the players and to give the players who dont buy Dm chance to gain boosters as well as lower ranked players. that have yet to discover the usefullness of dark matter. even when they had vidio proof.!! :huntsman: all they can say is it is lag. !!!!!!!!!!!!! :headbanging:

When the auctions first started I had fun trying to get my bids in against about 4 other players in the last minute or so of the auction. Sometimes my bid was accepted, others it wasn't. I learnt fairly quickly that instead of hitting the arrow buttons to increase the bid by the lowest possible amount (and thus being more likely to not being able to place the bid because someone else gets in there first), type in the lowest bid plus a little extra. That way your bid is more likely to be accepted.

As a side note Blackmass - PMing players accusing them of cheating and threatening them with a ban when you lose at an auction isn't on, unless you're a mod, which you're not. This whole thread reads as sour grapes from you, especially when you look at how often you're bidding things up at these auctions - the last 10 auctions in 44, you've won 3 of them, paying a total of nearly 1kk resources (although I know you've bid on many more, and closely lost at least 1)

"Bid jamming" should not be banned because:

if someone is paying 15kk or whatever ridiculous amount for a 20% crystal boost, they are just losing res.

It is equivalent to someone IPMing an inactive with ~400 IPMs.

Why would losing 14 million for no reason be a good strategy; it doesn't benefit your alliance, it loses your alliance 14000 points.

watch this and pay attention to the bid amounts. this is the last 5 minutes of an auction . http://s1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii48…rent=Video2.mp4 now this player buy bidding the way he does. no matter the higher amount you place . a player will not get his bid in at all. due to current bid update lag.. I.E. begushing< and i just sent fiendly adsvice to a nice player.and had a nice chat about how he and my self both have had this happen. and is that way dureing the auction when i bid a few other players probe the daylights out of my. planets too. Apoc. when you have lower ranked players that go to the auction. and start to bid. then aplayer dropps 3kk down to kill the bid. how is that fair and balanced for the lower ranked players. ( think long term newer players get burned at auction and probed 23 times while at auction . seeing they are trying to be intemadated they quite . in 6 months uni. population 300 to 400 again, and who will be crying about finding targets. in a reasonable range. ) no back on topic .

Blackmess: If a high ranked player want to throw away resources, let them - its a wargame.

I dont get the "lag" you speak of, just type in bids manually.

If player a) bids every second , type in 5000 and bid. Unless you write crazy slowly, it should be accepted.

I do these mini-bids myself if i know the auction is about to close, it hasnt stop the thinking auction-opponents i've been up against from bidding... Makes you think..

Iteabag i understand some people dont have to put up with what is going on on a few servers. it is not lag on my side i could careless. but i ran a test last night on the auction with a former game operator. and. there is a way to lag the auction server. so other players cannot get their bids in at all for 1.5 minutes . that is why this rule can be valuable tool for the game operators. to have . and to be honest there is three ways to lag block other players from bidding. its been put to the test. last night and one way to get around it is to bid 25k at a time. or to bid and extra 0.002 . other wise all you get is a gray submit button. even with a bid thats 2 k higher. thats why alot of 2k bids are 2,002. i did not just blindly come up with this rule . there is a reason for it. and i dont have any lag on my side either. and i have fun with some of the players that bid but a few ruin it for the rest.

If people bid 25k at a time, bid 26k.. If people bid 1001 extra, bid 2002 insted of 2000.. I mean, it just sounds like you want to make rules instead of getting smart about it.
