Deuterium mining planet

I'm still noobish, so this question may be retarded. I want to set up a planet to mine solely deuterium, and planets farther away (13,14,15) give more deuterium because they are colder. My question is this:

Is the benefit of a slot 15 over a slot 13 worth having less slots?

RE: Deuterium mining planet

It depends. You can still get large planets in Slot 15 (My friend has a 201 field slot 15) so they're not useless at all. I would prefer a slot 15 I think.

That seems a bit strange, since it says

pos13: average: 110, 60% between 60 and 160 fields
pos14: average: 84, 60% between 42 and 126 fields
pos15: average: 101, 60% between 54 and 149 fields

which means that having 200 is just wrong....
Anyone else?

The other 40% aren't accounted for, meaning they can be above and below the 54 to 149 range. :)

Those are just chances, you can get a 25 field planet on slot 4 and you can get over 200 fields on a slot 15, depending on your luck

But the thing that affects the deut production is the temerature, so a slot 13 could be colder than your slot 15 planet, making more deut

In general though, 15s are colder than 13s. Since you'll have to be going till you get a good 200-or-so field planet anyway, go for slot 15. Just don't plan on having solar sats be any use at all.

My suggestion, get a slot 15 and build other mines on it also. Pure deut is just idiotic. Your production spikes much higher with mines on each planet.

I have one (soon to be two) position 15 planets, and it's over 160 fields. I recommend upgrading Your metal and crystal mine to a reasonable level, then get your deuterium synthesizer up really high. That's what I'm doing. :)

in position 15 ,the production of deuterium is much higher than 1-12,but is no higher than 13 and 14.look carefully, you will find the temperature of position 13-15 is almost the same. And i suggest you would better not produce deuterium only.build metal and crystal mine aslo ,you can upgrade you Fusion Reactor and Deuterium Synthesizer to high level.the profit is much higher than only build Deuterium Synthesizer and solar plant only.

But on position 15 you don"t get many energy from the solar sats!!

thats what fusion reactors are for :P

But then again, its kinda redundant to have a planet producing deut, yet needing to use it to power the mines

personnally I say just stick with the 4,5,6 slots, as they are the biggest AND produce good power from sats, thus not needing fusion as much, thus producing more deuterium. plus since their bigger you wont run out of room as quickly

so in my books, 15 slots and stuff are kinda redundant, as youll probally run out of room fast with less than 200 feilds (thus having less room for deut mines :P)

I like saying "thus" :P :P :P

is it true?when i played in another server, not 2x speed,i never used more than 160 room.i think 180+ is enough.more than 200? i do not think it is necessary.

if you dont build shipyards, storages, research labs and missile silos (which you probably won't, except maybe deut tank) then even a 100 fielder takes long to fill, and even after that you can still build terraformers

i have all my 9 planets well built up.

and every planet takes up 170-180 space
(terraformer on homeplanet)
and on one planet i even used up 196 fields.

If you are a crazy player like me you need many fields.
Plan for the future and rather be patient with planetsizes.

deuterium mining planets are a poor strategy.
to be most efficient you should build up all your 9 planets evenly.

slot 15 planets are nice but i prefer slot 4-8
cause i can build there solarsats in masses which are more effective than solarplants.
the deuterium- difference isnt that big either.

first question is: are you a miner or raider?
if you're miner (like me ;D)i have 4 planets on 15 slot and all are >190 fields, if they're smaller - game over because most of them are about 180 fields build up (nanites max 2 lvl ) but on my 2nd acc: raider most of planets are on 15 slot [7] beacuse i need huge deuterium.

well, i suppose you wouldnt run out of room if it were a pure mining planet... but i'd rather be safer than sorryer :D

but still try to get all your planets bigger than your homeplanet, so you still can have a few storages/ use terreforming and all that handy dandy stuff :)

and unless your galaxy is really crowded and hardly any planets, and you dont want to move to other galaxies, you should stick with the 4,5,6 slots or even the 7,8 ones.
