Outlaw status

OK, can someone please explain this outlaw status. In a previous post in the general forum it was stated that attacking these players would lead to honor points...having attacked two of these outlaws I received -HP. Can someone please explain the conditions under which an attack on one of these players results in +HP. Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else but the lack of clear explaination in v3.0 guides is annoying.

Read First 3.0 Q&A

read the examples of an attack

to gin honout points you must see (HP) next to the name of the player you are attacking

people wich have 100 military ranks below you and anyone with military ranks above your own military rank are honourable targets

Outlaws are players who should be in newbie protection from you, however they gave this up by attacking someone much stronger than them. So gained outlaw status for a week.

Essentially, Outlaws have given up their newbie protection for a week... but that doesn't mean it is honourable to attack them.

For the fight to be honourable you need to fulfil one of the following:
Have less military points than the defender
The defender is marked as honourable (i.e. fulfils the above criteria)
The defender is a bandit

and if it's ACS Attack then:
Honourable if the military points of the defender is not less than 50% of the sum of the attackers military points.
or
Defender is a bandit

Quoted

so, if you attack someone with less than 50% in military points, you lose honor points?
Unless they meet the other criteria. If they're only 40 ranks behind you in Military but that puts this person at only 30% your Military score, it should be an honourable combat. If this other person is 120 ranks behind you, only 30% your Military score, and not a bandit, however, you're losing honour my friend.
