    • Modification to the Board Warning system

A couple of years ago, the board warnings system was set so that certain warnings would automatically expire after 6 months has passed while others had no pre-defined expiration. We are now making an additional adjustment as follows:

Warnings which will expire after 6 months:
      • Spam (Includes Spam, Off-Topic, posts with only smilies or too few words)
      • Disregarding Rules (e.g Ban discussion, Non-English, mis-use of the Reporting tool)
      • Posthunt
      • Repeatedly Posting in Wrong Forum

Warnings which will expire after 2 years<< This expiration is NEW:
      • Breach of Rules (e.g Swearing, inappropriate image, Flaming, repeated rule breaking)
      • Insult
      • Trolling

Notices placed on your account using the warning system will expire after 1 year (these do not count as official warnings).

      Notes:

Pre-existing warnings, the older board system and a previous board bug mean that many accounts carry warnings which should have expired under these new conditions. You may pm any Board Admin to request a review of the warnings in your account if you are affected by this. We will continue to remove these randomly from profiles regardless of whether a pm has been sent.

As in the past system, users who have had no warnings for the past 6 months are also eligible to request the early removal of their other warnings at the rate of one every 6 months as a reward for improved adherence to the rules.

For every 4th active warning you have, a timed ban will be applied to your account. These are applied by the Board Admin and each case is assessed individually. Your ban will create a note against your individual pillory listing and due to the fact that warnings expire and are deleted from your profile, this timestamp will be used to determine when your next ban is due.

The Board Administrators will apply "Custom Warnings" which carry no expiration for users who commit serious rule infringements. Certain activities will lead to an instant banning of an account. You should re-familiarise yourself with the Board Rules and Gameforge Terms & Conditions to avoid such a ban/warning.

    • The "Spam" warning is now re-labelled as an "Off-Topic/Spam" warning. The expiration time for this type of warning is reduced from 6 months to 2 months. Other warnings remain as they were.

    • We made some changes to the warning system which differ quite a bit from the old one:
Warnings now won't expire anymore and stay in your Account. Warnings that you got before today will still expire, this just applies to new warnings.
Warnings have different amount of points assigned to them:
      • Breach of rules: 10 points
      • Off topic/spam: 10 points
      • Trolling: 15 points
      • Insults: 15 points
      • Breach of T&C: 30 points
At different amount of points you will get banned:

      50 points - 7 day ban
      100 points - 15 day ban
      150 points - perma ban
