    • Hello, I have an issue with the favorites. Currently there's a shortcut to some random coordinates that I can't remove. Every time I remove it and refresh the page, it comes back. I play in Uriel and I haven't had this issue happen anywhere else. I tried reinstalling the extension but from what I understand, it has that info stored somewhere locally on my pc. What can I do to remove those pesky coordinates? Thanks.

Hi @Warsaalk. As others I'd like to thank you for all your hard work. This last implementation must have taken you a lot of hours of work. It is indeed very fine developer work. Congrats on that. Whether people agree or not about the functionality does not change that and you deserve this to be acknowledged. I'm impressed with the agressivity of some people there refuting the very first attempt of diplomacy and dialogue.

Personnaly, I think the way the tool is conceived is fair. Yes, people could cheat, but people can always cheat if they want. You providing legal tools is not you allowing people to cheat, and therefore not your responsability. And about the functionnality itself, well, I find it quite useful I must say ! People think it is normal to have you fleet recycled if you forget about it, but they find it unforgivable when you try to recycle the debris they have created when doing so. Isn't that caracteristic of the kind of behavior that is used as a pretext for justfying agressive behaviors and advantaging fleeters ? Once again, the way you play, as far as it is considered legal, only concerns yourself. You're afraid of spoiling the fun or being tempted to cheat ? Don't use it. You can disable it. But don't impose your ways to every other one.

And evantually, I'd like to suggest Pushbullet's API implementation. Because most of the time I play on my phone, being on the move a lot, and this would permit me receiving the notifications on my phone If I need to go before the fleets come back instead of setting an alarm.

      Thanks again for everything !

I cannot delete the top one in the favorite list, all others its just click and reload.
Everytime i delete the top one and reload, it simply reapears..

      I also use chrome.
Um, that's the same issue I have.

    • Hello!
Thanks for this great tool. :)

I was wondering if there is a way to disable several features (currently it appears we don't have the choice):
      - fleet mission coloring
      - numbers instead of DF icons
      - player general rank in the galaxy view

Those are redundant with AGO, except in AGO you can choose to use them or not.

      Best regards
    • This update should fix several issues posted here a while ago!

      Update 4.0.0

This is a major version update, the decision for this was because of the new database system.
The database is considered to be the core of UniverseView, so changing it means changing the way UniverseView works.
More technical information about the change can be found below.

It update also fixes one of the older/more annoying bugs in UniverseView, the slowing down of the galaxy when navigating through it.

The technology levels that you've saved from other players will also be reset, migrating the old database data was not possible.

      Changelog:
      • New => Replaced the old database system with a new system
      • New => Added the TrashSim & OGotcha buttons to shared & favoured espionage messages/combat reports
      • Fixed => Galaxy bug, everything went significantly slower after a while when going through the galaxy
      • Fixed => Technology levels didn't get saved when a player enabled images in the espionage reports
      • Fixed => It was not possible to delete the first coordinates in the favourite list
      • Polishing => Removed the OGame API option for getting a players his planets
      • Polishing => Refactored and updated a large portion of the codebase
      • Polishing => Updated the menu, now you should be able to get a better overview of the possible features
      • Polishing => The database now updates itself without ask for the user to update it
      • Polishing => It's now possible to disable these features:
        • Quick loot/raid links in the espionage reports
        • Showing the ranks of players & alliances in the galaxy
        • Showing the debris amount instead of the debris icon

Thanks for using UniverseView and if you have any feedback don't hesitate to share it

      Database change information
Note: this is a technical explanation about the new database system. Knowledge about browsers might be a plus when reading it.

In previous versions of UniverseView it was possible to select different ways to fetch the planets of certain players.
The only option now is the new database system, the OGame API option has been removed.

The old database option was based on IDB, a database API for browsers.
Updating/expanding this database seemed to be a challenge, also getting an overview of the data/db structure isn't that convenient and I'm not a fan of the API design.

So I decided to go for another idea!
The new database system is based on a in-memory XML document, which is basically a DOM tree.
Now, why would anyone go for this weird solution and not use an available database API like IDB?
Well, getting data from the in-memory XML is 2 to 3 times faster, which, for me, is already a reason to change it.
The reason why it's faster is because browsers offer a fast way to select/create/update DOM trees.

Another advantage of this the parent/child relation in a DOM tree & attributes.
This allows me to store all the data for my extension together and not in seperate tables like with IDB.
      Example:
The XML consists of "player" elements with several attributes like ID, name, alliance, technologie levels, ...
The players element contains planet elements as its childeren and these planet elements also have attributes like ID, name, ...
This way of structuring the data makes it easy for me to select certain data and get all the data in relation to an element.
Also for future use this is favourable, adding attributes/elements like found defences or buildings would be easy and without the need to change any existing data/structure.

But, every implementation also has its downsides.
For this XML solution it's saving the data to persistent storage as it's in-memory.
The in-memory part means that the updated data would disappear when you'd close your browser.
Luckily browsers offer something like local storage, this API enables me to periodically save the XML if any changes took place.
So this is something I had to implement myself, IDB takes care of this itself.

I hope this was useful and if you want more info about this, just let me know

    • What is the "current profile" drop down menu that is appearing at the bottom of the galaxy view for? And every time I move to the next system it adds another drop down menu...so if you're quickly moving through the galaxy you're getting a lot of these.

And the down menu gives options for 'blank', 'default', and 'test'.

See attachment. Didn't have this before recent update.

      I'm using FF.

EDIT: It has something to do with "Enable the player spreading feature" in the universview settings. When I disable that function, this drop down menu disappears from galaxy view.

    • Also, most of the options in galaxy view aren't working.

I removed it, and reinstalled it. Same thing.

None of these are working anymore for me:

Show a player his rank in the galaxy.
Show a player his research in the galaxy.
Show a player his militairy points and ships in the galaxy.
Show a player his planets in the galaxy.
    • Update 4.0.0.1

This update is a small hotfix

      Changelog:

      • Hotfix => Galaxy features don't work with AGO/AGR enabled as these extensions change element ID's which makes it impossible to query them

    • That dropdown menu is for the spreading feature profiles.
In the top right corner you should see a red button, when you click it'll open the player spreading/distribution.
Check out the feature description on my website:

It is a great feature, I've just never seen that drop down menu below the galaxy view before. Your add on is very good, congrats on the work. I'll be sure to contribute a bit your way.
