Rip Fleets. Godly or Useless? How to use them and how to not.

  • Rip Fleets
    Godly or Useless?
How to and how to not use them.

I'm kinda new to Ogame, and was wondering how cost effective rips are compared to the other fleets that has the same function as them.

If they now are cost effective then by how much. And how do use them to there full potential?

Now if they are not then what kinda of fleet set up should someone use? For turtles and fleet crashes.

I got some rips but they have not made my day better rather for the worse ;( , getting spied on all the time don't help whit my nerves.

Anyhow, do they have own specal phase that they are useful in like the mid, or late game.

  • Using RIP fleets, you rarely have any losses, and almost no fuel expenses. As such, RIP hits are almost pure profits, and being onlined mid-flight only costs you time rather than a expensive deut-bill with nothing to show for it.

But RIP are slow as :censored: , and is therefore only rarely used for proper fleeting. RIPs are mostly used for farming, those who leave just a bit too much ress lying around. RIPs hits therefore more often hauls in 20-30 million profit rather than hundreds of millions (or a few billions) seen in the big fleet crashes. In short, RIPs are a supplement to farming. Farming with heavy firepower if you will, but farming nonetheless. Low income, but consistent. So RIPs have pretty limited use for fleeting, but is godly for farming.

  • Rips are more of a late game ship when it comes to raiding with them. The more you have, the more profits you'll make every day if done correctly. If your new to the game, than I wouldn't concern myself to much with Rips unless you have good income to support the production of them, or maybe you intend to blow up some moons :p Not to mention there are huge risks when raiding with them, you can easily lose your rips if enough fleets are aware of their return time by means of lanxing the planet your attacking, or the defender reaches out for help. GL with your empire

  • speaking as a ripper I'd recommend them highly but only if you are a patient and careful player who can play the long game. Masking return times and using acs is a must with rips.
If you get it right and have large numbers the farm level is high. Add in the satisfaction of turtle killing for odd high profit hits and you are laughing.

I played with 5.1k in a x2 and that was fun

  • I have over 1600 in a single speed uni and I love em. Like what Arcane said you have to be patient with them, know how to keep them safe and use ACS. In a single speed I would say you could effectively start off raiding with about 100, so they do take some time to build. But they are best played late game

Ex- Gmod... don’t bother me anymore

  • Eddie I hope you got all the answers you were looking for...

RiPs are great ships and far from useless just like any other. There is a stage of game when every ship has benefits.

RIP is a late game ship. Slow but effective.

    BONUSES:
    Low deut. usage (basically none)
    Great capacity
In faster unis must have if you want to FS at low costs
Great ship for ninjas and preventing spy & fly attacks...
Popping the moons around (careful with that one :)

    NEGATIVE:
    Expensive to build
    Slow

Personally I would recommend RIPs to long term players. Once you are on a hyper Drive 15+ you will find them godlike! Especially in faster UNIs.

  • Thank you for the explanation. I was kinda scared that I would not get any responser X/ but I got a lot of help thank you  !

  • You jsut have to be careful about people trying to hit your rips as they return to your planet. i probe hours before then send in ACS so its really unclear what speed you have sent at.

  • ...and none even mentioned the super awesome jumpgate ninjas you can do with them! :spiteful:

But really, RIP's are a major part in a long-term profit making fleet. Once you learn to use them, it is pure profit! Payback might be a bit long for a 1000+ RIP count (faster fleetspeed=faster payback) but as I said, it's a long-term profitmaking machine.
