The V mode

  • LMAO...This is so crazy a thread...

I can't tell which of you is just completely insane, and which of you is being sarcastic at this point! :kpinch:

None of this is real!

    i mean it 100%
I think the natural direction for GF to take the game now is by charging people money to vmode

  • Why do you think GF would stop at one line of income if it can have both? :-/

    Well with the ability to:
    Buy ress
Half time research, buildings & ships
    Complete research, buildings & ships
    Buy moons shots
    Buy increased fields on planets
    Buy increased fields on moons
Buy 10, 20, 30% increased metal, crystal & deut production in form of boosters
Buy bronze, silver & gold detroids, newtrons & kraken
Use merch to legally push people
    Buy extra fleet slots
    Buy extra energy
    Scrap your fleet / defenses
Buy 10-12% increased output from mines
    Buy higher Espionage tech
    Buy increased fleet escape rate
    Halves losses to defence systems
    Increase research speed by 25%
    Buy relocations
    Building queues
Hide adds (this one actually makes sense)
    Unlock Empire view

Then i think it might actually be possible for GF to substitute one of these things with another source of income that doesn't change the balance ingame quite as much without crippling their cashflow.

(writing this actually makes me really sad that im still playing this game  )

  • Now imagine all the over possibilities:

    Increase MD chance
Bumping fleet speed (there are the item for mine boost, why not offer something for the fleeters)
    Insta-cooling your JG
Bonus Phalanx (as in fleet slots)
    Mobile space dock
Increase your weapon/shield/armor techs for 24 hr
Block your adversary from logging in for 30 minutes.
    Check online status (current/monthly statistic)

    etc etc! :)

  • Simple , tie deploy fuel costs with some research. to be possible to lower it like 75%. Hence you can deploy wherever economically. In that case you dont need deploy system and it will be harder to locate fleets. Hence easier to evade bigger fleets. Hence you dont need vm. logic 101

  • I like v-mode the way it is.

V-mode warriors don't bother me because I try not to leave meself open to attack at anytime, and if I do, I know it was my fault for not taking the proper care. Oh noes, I won't be able to punish someone for taking advantage of my stupidity. And if I really do want to punish them, they've just handed me plenty of time to set it up.

Really, how often does someone taking advantage of v-mode actually happen? Because if it happens a lot, it's not them who's doing something wrong.

On the other hand, while I haven't needed to v-mode since near the beginning of the year, I can easily see situations where I might need to, suddenly, frequently and/or for a long time.

I am in fact staring down the barrel of such a situation now, so renewed interest in limiting v-mode comes at a hysterically inopportune time for me. So, with complete selfish sincerity, I say just leave it alone.
