Feedback: Game version 6.8.3

  • As the new feature will probably find its lovers and haters, please post the feedback regarding this feature in this thread.

  • hell yeah i can relocate position 8 to 15 now

also i guess this is a great way to fix the inactives issue; just make your players pay up

  • All i ask, and i think everyone agrees, is a couple of free relocations since i expect many to have already relocated a few planets without knowing this would even be considered as a feature :P otherwise like the above post said, feels like a money grab :/

  • What about all of us who focused on getting max size slot 15s? do we get re-scaled or are we getting punished for our long term vision and careful planning?

Absolutely zero consultation, a complete removal of an arbitrarily imposed cost with no indication of compensation.

Ive been building in slot 15s for the exact reason that its the only edge I can get over people to help me catch up, it takes a lot of investment to make it work and the number of colony rolls you have to do to get two variables is 1 in 200 it took me weeks to place colonies to get one that is potentially useful and now people who put no care or consideration can just press relocate.
Fuck this game im done there have been so many instances where its clear game forge change the game to try and court the whales, the reason the whales even play the game is because there are other players who don't pay out their noses you guys can't just keep fucking shafting us give us something.

  • This should have been the case when relos were introduced.

I feel totally screwed over by GF yet again. I have invested a lot of res, time and DM into slot 3 planets to terraform then relocate to slot 15 and for what? I could have all 300+ field slot 15s for less money spent. I’ve been punished for being forward thinking and doing the hard miles to create a useable slot 15.

Such a change of game dynamic shouldn’t just come a random update as a feature imho.

  • Agreed with the above poster, I spent 100m+ resources on Terraformer to upgrade slot 3s before relocating to slot 15 - now it feels like all my hard work has gone down the drain, and I'm faced with either deleting 10% of my account or being stick with small planets and wasted Terra.

  • yeah I agree, takes about 40 to 50 shots to get a decent slot 3, then terraform to level 10, then relo it to slot 15, what a waste of time, how about you make all the current slot 15 planets suddenly acquire 1.5 times their original planet size ...

  • such a slap to players who were colonizating position 3 (to get around 170-180 fields), then doing relocation to position 15 to switch to fusion...
Now anyone who was not planning this, can do double relocation and come to position 15 with 250+ planet fields...
I feel bad for people playing from the start 'position 15 tactic'...
Not ok with them at all...

  • Ridiculous idea. Current slot 15s should get an extra set of fields added i.e. + 60 or something. Where does GF come up with these ideas, are they losing that much money on this game?

What about the people who spent $$$ on relocating slot 8's to 12s? Ridiculous.

  • Hello,

As first post says, there might be lovers and haters. I am both of them. I hated because i already invested my time and resources on my 9 out of 12 planets! I love it for the future if I play in new universe.

I don't really know how this option will effect miner's Deut sales.

  • I don't understand how such a significant change can just pop up with only 3 days warning and no mention on compensation for damages.

Personally I would recommend not rolling this update out to older servers EVER or consider compensation.

Everyone is affected, if you are going to re-size non standard slots thats unfair on everyone so they would also need a resize, the resizing would have to be based on the probability of that planet size in that slot, but the ranges are not equal so people gain or lose from rounding.

Then theres people who relocated, they need compensation for the "wasted" relocations.

But no mention of compensation? That just punishes people who plan to play your game for a long time (invested players) and punishes players who paid you money (paying customers) so this change hits precisely the two groups that you need, like some games companies give out free copies just to get players so that paying customers have people to play with. Once either of these groups leave the game is over, someone screwed up.

    • Agreed, even giving all existing slot 1-3s and 13-15s 15 slots would go a long way to making the dedicated players who've spent effort on Terra + money on relocs feel less screwed by this
  • My lord - where to start ...

This change is just BAD for the game. :/:/
As @Not_Asian & @pirate andy have said above, it seems rushed, inappropriate & completely un-though out. It shows a complete disregard & actually punishes those players who had the foresight to plan for the long game.
The level of foresight and consideration that is currently being exhibited by those running OGame is appalling. This is supposed to be a STRATEGY game wit longevity. How r we supposed to strategize when GF keep on 'moving the goal posts' so to speak. :S

I'm gonna stop here as a wall of txt isn't gonna make this any clearer.

P.S. Some form of compensation needs to be given to those who currently own slot 13s-15s. An increase in field size at the very very least seems appropriate.

  • Because I'm too lazy to write a new post, here is what I posted as early feedback before it was put into the version:

    Quote

No, just no. Simply because I would spend all my DM and relocate all 13 Planets to Position 15 to get more deut. (Not that I don't have way too much DM anyway, it wouldn't even be half the amount of DM I have in my account)

On a more serious note: Still no. There was a reason back in the day to not make it available, you can push your accounts even faster with it. Just take a big position 8 planet, move it to 15 and tada, you got a normal planet with huge ass deut production.

On the even more serious note: Rather create the graveyard servers, so that this solution isn't needed and we can relocate to normal positions that arent blocked my old and useless accounts

  • If this was intended as a fix to vmoded inaccs, it seems incredibly disruptive to current players compared to the Graveyard server solution. It seems more likely that this is intended as a cash grab - while the 5-10% of DM users who built old slot 15s get screwed and might quit, the majority of other players will be dumping a pile of DM in the coming few weeks.

  • Well...

I could write an essay but there isn't much point in that when I can summarise and say this "feature" is utter bs.

Maybe as compensation for those slot 3 guys would be for a field increase of +20.

My choice would be to remove that "feature" entirely.

edit: ok there is more to say.............

Why can't this game be managed by people who have an understanding for its mechanics? Why??

    Why???

    Why????

Here's the simple solution already suggested by practically everyone who's commented on the issue of a lack of space in the universes. Move... the... vmoded... accounts... into... a... holding... universe... and... enable... them... to... be... copied... into... their... actual... universe... IF... they... ever... return.

Can it really be that hard? Can it??

p.s. Yes... I'm losing it slightly with these silly decisions.

  • Who would expect any less from fail forge...

Why wouldnt this have been implemented prior to the merge when everyone still had many free relos? Oh wait they wanted to wait till after everyone used the free relos to gain more income....

Or maybe this is a fix because they failed to fix the inactive/VM clog issue, so hey lets make another issue!

Ive seriously thought of making a petition to get whoever is in charge to resign, are they purposely destroying the game or just trying to milk every penny?

another big win for the wallet warriors and china gang

  • I am not actually complaining about the relocation thing... that's a good thing.

Once the merge of Kallisto into Uni1 was completed, i decided to wait for my ally mates to complete the merge as well, so i decided to postpone the relocation of some of my planets until we can decide what to do.
When the time came for the plans to be made, all the accounts were merged and i could not find a single spot that would suit me within 4-12 so i ended up giving up the idea of relocating. I was lucky enough to postpone the selection of the merge as well and, as a result, i got 7 relocations which will be worth a lot of deuterium right now :))

    On another note...
Is this a tactic by GF to add some revenue? Could be... we do live in a profit oriented world...
Is GF forcing you to relocate your planets? No...
Is GF giving you the great option to relocate your planets wherever you want in a system instead of limiting you? Yes...
Is this causing some issues since, as someone said, you can colonize a 260 field planet and then move it to slot 15 for increased deuterium production, literally turning it into a gold mine? Yes!
Could this be fixed? HELL YES! Fixed trade rates and probes with storage on will increase the value of crystal over the value of deuterium in terms of demand. Since crystal production remains the same throughout the system it will be the only stable coin that everyone would use... Why? Fleeters need Deuterium to move their fleets, Miners need metal and crystal to build up their mines and they will both need a lot of crystal to speed up either farming or collection of resources.

    Problem solved, you're welcome...

  • I invested heavily in IGRN many years ago with the knowledge that I would need it for some of the bigger researchers and this would give me a strategic advantage later in the game - WRONG!!!
Along comes instant building and poof, my investment goes up in smoke.

I invested in slot 3s, lots of Terraforming to then move to slot 15. Again, great forward thinking and being prepared to put in the effort and expense early for payback later - WRONG!!!!
Along comes the option to relocate to any slot.

I'm thinking about stopping building any mines, because in the future the game will change and prove that all my investment in mines was, you guessed it - WRONG !!!!
