Questions about moon creation

  • I know that moon chance is 1% per 100K debris. But the moon chances given by the game are integer values. So are those values rounded up, rounded down, or is the actual moon chance a decimal value but the game shows you the rounded value?

    Here are two combat reports on Himalia with almost the exact same debris field size (384,000 vs 384,800). One gives me a 3% moon chance, the other a 4% one. What's up with that?

    Essentially, if I make a DF of 110K, will I get a moon chance of 1%, 2%, or 1.1%?

    Other simpler question : when a moon is created, is there still a debris field, or does the DF disappear to become the moon?

  • The reason is not in amount of df but in moon phases, your combats didn't happend the same day;
    So one day there was no additional chance and next day real moon was a bit bigger (looking) so you get 1% additional chance.
    Depense on moon phases you can get 0, 1, 2 or 3% additional chance for moon creation.

    Good improvement.
    If you search you can find Text about that on board but this is the essence.

    Got it, thanks. So is this like a static bonus, or a percentage increase? Like, on a 100k debris fight, can it give a 4% moon chance on full moon?

  • It depends on universe settings, I don't think that is made from unrecyclable part.
    In some misterious way there are both there, moon and df at the same time :)
    I would prefer if they would make a change so things wouldn't happend in random mode but that is the other disscusion :(:cursing:
    (like every time when there is any moon chance it gives moon if there is not atm)
