Pushing? mmmmm

    Hello everyone,


    I have come here to ask you all your opinion on this current situation I have with the Virgo GO, yodhd


    Last week me and Heretic made some hits on player ''Dig Bick''. Here's how those unfolded.


    I spot the target idling, attack, one deut fleet. While I'm flying to the deut fleet, I spot the main also sitting, so I tell Heretic who is close to launch an attack.


    I could have slowed the attack a little bit by adding fleet, or I could've just launched fleet only by myself, but chose to share with Heretic to be able to hit earlier and to share the profits.


    I added 666 probes instead, which according to the Topraider reports, which attribute you profits depending on how much damage you inflicted in the attacks, caused damage to the defender's fleet, since I was attributed by Topraider a total of 129.084 profits, which indicates my ACS'd probes did have an influence on the battle, no matter how small.


    Heretic sent me roughly 30% of the profit, and I opened a ticket.


    At first, the GO responded saying - OK, this is added to your file.


    Woot, great! So I spend the resources.


    Two days later, after a marvelous epiphany of oGame righteousness, he came back determined to rid Virgo of the evil which roamed the universe, telling me that no, that was actually pushing, and I had to re-send the resources to Heretic within 3 days or I would get a ban.


    The GO also said in his answer "The ACS split can be made as you want as long as players involved has contributed with fleet for the attack."


    Which is 100% factually a wrong as someone who contributes Moon Destructions, for example, without being on the actual CR is still allowed to receive part of the profit.


    I also quoted him the rulebook from this thread:


    New Game Rules - valid from 17.9.2012

    • Recycling Help and ACS Splits: It is recommended to notify a GameOperator while the lower ranked player transports resources to the higher ranked one. ACS split can be done as players want while all involved contributed.


    To no avail, as according to him it is impossible that I contributed to that CR happening unless I had actual FLEET in the combat, he says even if my probes did do some damage (not even sure he actually acknowledged that), it has to be fleet and not probes.


    And according to him, even if I had popped someone's moon and allowed a teammate to lock the fleet, I would still not be allowed to receive profits since I'm not in the CR.


    Can someone point me to the rule which mentions this? Cause this smells like arbitrary butt prodding to me.


    So, what does the community think?


    I'm a pusher, but if I had added 1 Cruiser to the battle, then I would not be?

    Just to be clear, who knows, I might be wrong, which is why I'm asking everyone's opinion, whether you agree or disagree with my stance

    If someone sends Moon Destructions but no fleet "FOR THE ATTACK", as per your own wording he did not contribute to the attack.


    Someone who ONLY destroys the moon, did not contribute with fleet to the ATTACK.


    So either your wording of your rule was incorrect, either you are saying exactly that. Either way, not a good look IMO.

    To contribute is to help to cause or bring about,so in effect you did contribute in a sense .esp probes are made in the shipyard ,are they not? ,so you added ships :beer:

    As I said above, I might be wrong and am ready to be proven wrong.


    However, manifestly you won't be the one to convince me. Hence why I'm asking everyone else's opinion on this.

    That's totally forbidden , as adding probes to the battle disregard the amount won't allow to split the acs .

    You spotted the target, and told someone to hit it... usually this case happens if the attacker is higher rank than you then it is his choice to give you any of the profit. but since the attacker is lower rank he is not allowed to share any profit with you, as there were no bounty attack or real acs attack.

    Don’t know the GO in question but I understand warning is pretty good and reputable and yeah it seems like pushing to me as well.


    When I share hits in my alliance I don’t ask for a cut or expect one all I did was probe and I am the highest rank in my alliance. Now that salvage will pass me then I’ll ask for a cut haha



    In all fairness he’s asking a question about a scenario not that he is banned and the go sucks he’s asking for clarification which is acceptable and I think the fact that the go involved in here discussing this is a good thing and shows transparency which is what this team needs

    Eh, guess I will send him back the resources, we can juste trade them back at cheap rates instead for a few weeks... That's legal right?

    You’re a skilled fleeter who owns a universe I’m sure you’ll have no problem making back those resources

    Of course, it's more a matter of principle, I've got one foot out the door already, not like I care about ranks anyway :shrug:


    I just wanna point out the incredible lack of clarity, this rule isn't stated anywhere in the wording used here, how can a new player learn about those?


    According to the wording used in the rulebook posted on boards, I would be entitled to a share of the profit. Not that the wording is very clear, and it does indeed leave a lot of room for interpretation.

    So in short:

    MDs don't count towards the ACS hit (that means if you only did MDs and weren't part with a significant fleet in the main hit, you aren't allowed to get something from the Split, in case you are higher ranked than the others)

    Your fleet needs to play a significant role in the ACS-CR, just sending probes or a few ships while others send way more ships than you, doesn't qualify you for getting something from the hit in case you are higher ranked.

    Probes don't cause damage to anything, you can hit someone with a billion probes while they only have one probe themself, the battle will end in a draw.
