where is the definition of obstruction of account development?

  • It is still bad practice to almost-bash someone for days, unless insultes were exchanged prior to the attacks.

I like to think that attacking people every so often is both sufficient to get profit and also to keep them in the game. Anyone remember Rabban? He got crashed 40 times before he left definitively.

  • So, to clarify:

There is no such rule regarding obstruction of account development, currently.

Most likely he's seeing it in the ticket system as it's still there...and I've encountered lots of people ingame who can't figure out where the rules are.

If you go to support to open a ticket, one of the current options does list obstruction of account development:

  • Yes, this is a throwback to when it was an actual part of the bashing rules.

The problem with this statement is,

people think they shouldn't learn how to play the game.

Too many people were trying to use it as a shield from being attacked.

It caused a lot more work for the GO team than it actually helped anybody.

For this reason it was dropped.

I know it doesn't help it is still a part of the ticket system.

But that is out of our control as well.

    And let's be honest...

In the grand scheme of things...

There are higher developer priorities at the moment.

Like the new content we're going to be getting.

  • Obstructing and bashing fit into the same definition now for all intensive purposes. Consider them synonyms in the Ogame rules.

I wasn't contesting it, just pointing out on the OP behalf where he was probably seeing it in the ticket system. Keep in mind, for old timers...we get the rules, newcomers find it all very confusing as the forums are a mess and links to things are sometimes found to be dead ends.

And, I'd be wary of posting something like that on the message board...active forum users are going to see it and note what you're saying on a post, but unless it's actually annotated somewhere where "everyone" can find it, then the message might not make it to the entire audience. A lot of new people don't even venture to the forums because forums are kind of old hat nowadays.

No worries my friend, I wasn't really saying you were contesting it, just trying to offer a quicker clarification.

I also agree that the forums have a few areas of opportunity. Suffice to say that the upgrade to the new board this summer created a pretty big work load for the Green team, but I know NoMoreAngel and company are working to make corrections as best they can as they come up.
