Changes in Deuterium

  • Has there been a change in deuterium production formula?

    Just asking because before the update to 7.1 it was working properly but now in game I get less.

    Can you confirm if that is correct?

    UniSpd*(10*deutlvl*1.1^deutlvl)*(1.36-0.004*Tavg)

  • Noticed this over on US Wezn and reported it over there. Seems the production has stopped scaling to the exact temp. Instead my planets all have one of two values post 7.1.

    All my planets are in slot 15. The two values post-7.1 are the -110 Tavg or -135 Tavg values. Not that big of a deal, but am losing ~2.45% deut production due to this bug, and not benefiting as much from some of my colder planets.

  • I also lost 5-10% deuterium production. I guess this should be fixed since it basically affects people that paid for reallocations... and we were already affected too much with the crawler energy crap.

  • i can confirm,i have a very complex spreadsheet which documents my mines production,and it suddenly became innacurate when it comes to deut...

    probably a bug

  • think i am losring about 5% of my production which is close to 80mil/day, so it comes down to about 3,5 to 4mil deut lost every day, and this is just me

    In our alliance we lose out on about 20mil deut/day

  • As other users have pointed out, the incorrect production of deuterium is caused by a wrong approximation in the formula of deuterium production.

    The formula is as follows

    10 * uni_speed * deut_level * (1.44 - 0.004 * max_temp) * 1.1 ^ deut_level

    since the new update, the part highlighted in red is approximated to the first decimal place.

    For example,

    • values 1.96 (max_temp = -130) and 1.904 (max_temp= -116) are both approx to 1.9.
    • values 1.496 (max_temp= -14) and 1.412 (max_temp= 7) are both approx to 1.4.

    As a result there are 16 temperature ranges and each of them corresponds to a certain production of deuterium.

    This leads to a decrease in deuterium production (up to 5% less), because it is as if the planets were warmer.


    The ranges are the following (the ranges indicated refer to the MAXIMUM temperature of a planet, for example if for a certain planet the game says "temperature from -118 to -78" then it should be considered only -78 which falls within the third range).

    • from -130 to -115 ----> replace the red part of the formula with 1.9
    • from -114 to -90 ----> 1.8
    • from -89 to -65 ----> 1.7
    • from -64 to -40 ----> 1.6
    • from -39 to -15 ----> 1.5
    • from -14 to 10 ----> 1.4
    • from 11 to 35 ----> 1.3
    • from 36 to 60 ----> 1.2
    • from 61 to 85 ----> 1.1
    • from 86 to 110 ----> 1
    • from 120 to 135 ----> 0.9
    • from 136 to 160 ----> 0.8
    • from 170 to 185 ----> 0.7
    • from 186 to 210 ----> 0.6
    • from 220 to 235 ----> 0.5
    • from 236 to 260 ----> 0.4
