Why did you come to Dorado

    I'm genuinely interested in why people chose this server?

    I'm guessing the vast majority because it was 1x fleet.


    There looks to be a big disparity in points (as there is in any server).


    And please leave the handbags for other threads.

    Well I can name a few that came because they couldn't get pagan with the accounts they made here so they came with bigger accounts to fail at that too

    i will choose Dorado because it is 1x speed server... i`m not happy at all for 1x eco and research , but i don`t wanna screw my life and my all free time in bellatrix which is 3x speed server

    and let`s not forget the most important thing : that Dorado is 100% deut consumption... let`s see how big fleeters will be able to do a proper fs in this circumstances :tongue3:

    same goes for naruto if he comes here he may have 1.7 billion deut but that will not last long with the 100% deut thing. i say give it like a month before people start bitching about wanting better ego and research speed

    when i started dorado in the beginning it was already hard, cant wait to see people with their 50-100b fleets and almost no eco in here.. 9 galaxies.. goodbye expos and goodluck attacking anyone over 10ss away :thumbsup: oh and almost forgot about hyper 15 :rofl:

    The one and only reason why I'm coming over is 1x fleet speed. I believe for most if not everyone that is the only reason..


    I believe the vote will happen as soon as possible (probably not a month, but it was mentioned that it would happen once all merges done) and that everyone should accept that fact as soon as possible.. and instead of fighting against it everyone in Dorado should come to some consensus on new settings :)

    I assume everyone who is not originally from Dorado will ask for increase in eco and research (the only question is how much - some came from x5, some from x7 etc, so maybe some middle ground between them and Dorado players and this would definitely be a "sacrifice" for Dorado players) while deut consumption and DF % could remain the same to keep it fairly balanced uni (This would be more "sacrifice" for people which came from other unis). Even though I believe Dorado players will be against any changes, or am I mistaken?

    your right i will be voting to keep it the same as it is now. i like the settings as it is but i know we get out number'd by the people who play in ego unis. if it was to go up i think 2 ego and 4 research and keeping the deut thing and df the same would be a good option but like i said the og people for dorado get out numbered by the others. i do not want to see like 7 ego speed as an option i think that high is a bad idea. no defance to df and no esp stroage

    I need the x1 fleetspeed,for you see, im a little bitch ;) but of course i would want a higher eco and research - in fact, i want the same settings i had in galatea, but we will see how the vote pans out.

    i hope that, when the vote comes to pass, that the people who read the polls dont just vote for the one option that has the highest votes, but rather they distribute the votes and choose the speeds which match most people closely.

    For example:

    if 1000 people choose x1 eco,

    and 800 choose x4 eco

    and 800 choose x6 eco

    and 800 choose x8 eco


    I would hope that they give the vote to the x6 eco, rather than just keeping it at x1 because it had the most votes. Do you guys understand? Sorry if this is off-topic a little.


    EDIT: Actually, I hope they release the results from the poll so we can all agree that their decision was fair.

    Speaking as a Dorado local, who has gone from rank 5 to rank probably 105 by monday, and a reasonably dedicated miner...

    If ECO stays at 1x, then I cannot see any way of progressing to match those who arrived with super big mines.

    I think there's a natural sort of soft top limit to mine levels, and atm the new big guys are over 100% of that native Dorado level.

    But if ECO is increased, then I guess there is a chance of catching up, although I am sure it will be a long slog (again).

    Probably the bigger the increase, the better it will help.

    Is my reasoning right or wrong? (yeah yeah I know what you'll say: it's my play style that's wrong lol)

    But, now i have a fleet from expeditions like 1.5mil EP. 500k ST and thousands of other ships that likes to 'eat' deut.. so I have 2 days to destroy my fleet and gathered DF and come to Dorado :(

    I came from another uni to Dorado and I would agree with you. I have seen a lot of people disagree with this and their main point is this - if you get x5 eco speed we do also and again there is no chance for you to catch up especially because we have bigger mines. However, I would disagree with that and this is my logic. IMHO current Dorado setting are just bad for everyone (for the sake of progress, not ones personal preference of play style) and this is why:

    - currently people who joined from other unis have either huge fleets or huge defense - dorado guys lose in both cases because they cant compete with those huge fleets and they cant farm those huge defenses.

    - in terms of mines dorado guys cant compete with new bigger mines

    - current low df and high deut costs are minus for those everyone who came here and has huge fleet

    Now, with getting eco speed higher would enable everyone to progress faster which is more important for Dorado guys because they can get mines to much closer levels compared to everyone from other unis (we all know how mine costs work) and also it would enable them to get more fleet faster. This, with my next point is why i think it is better for dorado guys to embrace higher eco speed - with higher eco speed a lot of inactives and miner become much much more profitable and if someone from dorado is very active he can catch up really really fast. Those huge defense become much smaller really soon and there is a lot more res behind them at this point. On the other hand those huge fleets still have high penalty with deut costs and 30% df is still stopping them from making huge profits.


    It is definitely not ideal but imho it is best from current situation. I believe that people who joined dorado are dissatisfied with current setting and for them increase in speed is only natural, while for Dorado folk I believe it is benefit to actually catch up in current situation and continue thriving even though it is not what they originally signed up for. In any other case a lot of people would quit really soon. At least that is my opinion, but i might be wrong..


    I wouldn't say 5x is minimum for eco speed (maybe 3x), but in my opinion it would be great, and going higher would be probably be acceptable for everyone who joined Dorado while it would be most beneficial to everyone who is originally from Dorado (while ironically they would probably be mostly against it).

    Research i would go that high. I would go either the same as eco speed or maximum 2x (so that 14x is maximum, not minimum)

    DF and consumption I agree is best to leave as is.
