Fleet Ratios

  • Once upon a time, a long long time ago (that is to say before someone decided to delete older threads :beware:), there was a pretty good discussion thread around fleet composition and ratios :sniper:

    Now that the game has changed (alot :borg:) I thought I'd open the discussion back up and see what people's thoughts are these days :mob:..

    The following ratios are how I got taught waaay back in the day on Uni 9 (what.. 10 years ago now?:blink: More? :dead: I don't know - I just feel old now :blackeye:).

    I've tweaked this slightly accounting for new ships (ie the Reaper :ninja:)..

    LF to RIP --> 1000:1

    LF to HF --> 2:1

    HF to Cruiser --> 2:1

    Cruiser to Battleship --> 2:1

    Battleship to Bomber --> 1:1

    Battleship to Destroyer --> 1:1

    Battleship to Battlecruiser --> 1:1

    Bomber to Destroyer --> 1:1

    Destroyer to Battlecruiser --> 1:1

    Destroyer to Reaper --> 1:1

    Destroyer to RIP -->100:1

    Recycler to RIP --> 100:1

    Large Cargo to Recycler --> 2:1

    Small Cargo to Large Cargo --> 1:1

    Probes : 50/spy mission

    So given alot has changed and that, well, it was a long time ago I thought I'd throw it open to discussion once more. :fatgreengrin:

  • I personally aim towards this with raiding fleet :

    LF : CR = 10 : 1

    CR : BS = 2 : 1

    BS : BC = 1 : 1

    Also that recycle to Rip 100:1 makes no sense. You need way more recycles. Just be careful with those, dont go for hyper 15 too soon, it eats way too much deut. Impuls 17 is not bad really, until big number battles start.

  • You shouldn't stick to any ship-to-ship ratios. The only ratio that matters is fodder to heavy ships.

    Simply build what you need (to optimally crash your target) and what you want (to fit your playstyle).
