[Archive] PTS version 8

  • Hello,

    on Wednesday 12th of May at 10:00 CEST, we will update the Public Test Servers with the version 8.0.0.


    With this version, we are updating the Operating System of the game as well as optimizing its APIs for further development.

    on Monday 17th of May we will release the version 8.0.0 rc-7.

    This update does not bring any visible changes to the test servers, but it is part of the performance improvement release we are working on.

    we are implementing the version 8.1.0 in the Public Test Servers today.

    This version does not have a scheduled release in the live servers yet.

    As soon as we have it we will let you know.


    The following changes are coming with this version:

    • Fleet Dispatch III was merged with Fleet Dispatch II. Fleet Dispatch II now allows for mission selection, resource loading and stopping expedition and hold times while keeping all previous functions intact.
    • Target selection, mission selection and briefing/resources loading can now be rearranged by using a new hand icon to place them in the desired order.


    [BugFix] The points of the Space Dock from level 18 on were not sync with the account. With this version the points will be added to the accounts so you will see some people jumping in the top rank due to this adjustment.

    [BugFix] The game now also calculates the points of high level researches (above 28). The top rank of many servers will be affected by this correction.

    we had a hotfix version applied to the PTS today at some point to fix several things from the last patch.

    [Bugfix] The loading times have been improved significantly.
    [Bugfix] The admin and banned acounts do not show up at the leaderboard any longer.

    It brings some more loading times fixes as we continue testing and preparing the version to the live servers.

    we applied the version 8.2.0 rc-1 today in the Public Test Servers.

    Here is the final changelog:


    • Research that was assigned to another planet in the construction queue will now start on the correct planet.
    • The reward event no longer gives the player a task to start a research if the player has a research task in process.
    • The number of interplanetary missiles that have been sent will now be shown underneath the fleet event.
    • Fixed a bug that allowed players to transfer to a server when their highscore is too high for that server.
    • Transferring away from the Graveyard server works again.
    • Players should now be able to send ships with full cargo at any time, as long as all the requirements for that are met.
    • The merchant should now work when called up a second time, without having to refresh the page.
    • The event countdown timer is visible again.
    • Free planet relocation no longer deducts Dark Matter.
    • Players no longer receive Dark Matter when they use free planet relocation during a cashback event.
    • Planet relocation is no longer possible if the moon in question has unfinished ships or defensive structures in the shipyard.
    • Players will no longer be granted free planet relocation when they are sent to the Graveyard server.
    • Various incorrect line breaks have been removed from Messages.
    • The order of defensive structures should now match in both the empire view and the standard view.
    • The alliance API works again.
    • Fixed various backend problems.


    Known issue: Buttons lose function if used in certain orders without refreshing the page.

    tomorrow, 3rd of September at 10:00 CEST (09:00 server time), we will update the Public Test Servers with a new version.


    Changelog

    • The effects of items for Fleet Slots, Expedition Slots, Planet Fields and Moon Fields of various levels (bronze, silver, gold and platinum) can now be active simultaneously.


    Players can, for example, have a moon with 20 additional fields by activating the following fields: Bronze Moon Fields (+2), Silver Moon Fields (+4), Gold Moon Fields (+6) and Platinum Moon Fields (+8).
    Activating Fleet or Expedition Slot items of the same level of an already active item increases its duration.</li><li>For example, if a player activates ‘Bronze Expedition Slots (1w)’ while ‘Bronze Expedition Slots (1w)’ is already active, the duration will be extended by a week to a total duration of two weeks.
    The new item behaviour will first take effect with version 8.2.0 and will not apply retroactively to items that were removed by activating better variants of the same type.

    Bugfix: several background optimizations have been applied to the game.

    Known issue: activating fleetslot and expeditionslot items in this version ignores their expiration date, making them permanent.

    It will be fixed in the next version (and applied to already active items).

    we will have an update on the Public Test Servers tomorrow, 20th of October at 10:00 CEST (09:00 server time).


    This version does not bring new features, but fixes some issues that have been showing up with the last updates in the servers.

    Here is the changelog:


    [Bugfix] The performance of the highscores, galaxy view and combat calculation has been improved.

    [Bugfix] It is now no longer possible to manually transfer an account to another server during a combat calculation.

    [Bugfix] Players who log out of a new account without taking any action, will no longer be shown as inactive.

    [Bugfix] Players now also land on their home planets after using the ‘Last played’ button instead of on the last planet or moon they selected.

    [Bugfix] Espionage probes now consume the correct amount of Deuterium when the load capacity of espionage probes is active in a universe.

    [Bugfix] The entry ‘Unknown’ for a construction which is not yet possible now opens the Techtree of that object.

    [Bugfix] An error was fixed where the resource production ignored the storage capacity.

    [Bugfix] You can now create, edit and delete notes if the ‘Notes in an extra window’ setting is active.

    [Bugfix] Multiple security vulnerabilities have been patched up.

    [Bugfix] Event banners will be displayed on every page again.

    tomorrow, 22nd of October at 10:00 CEST (09:00 server time) we will have an update in the Public Test servers.


    Changelog:


    [Bugfix] The calculation of the deuterium consumption has been adjusted: Each ship now requires at least 1 deuterium per flight, which can result in higher deuterium costs for shorter flights. Deathstars now also require the correct amount of deuterium when the "General" class is active.


    This change adjusts a previous change:

    [Bugfix] Espionage probes now consume the correct amount of Deuterium when the load capacity of espionage probes is active in a universe.

    Tomorrow, 26th of October at 13:00 CEST (12:00 server time) we will release a new 8.4.0 vrsion in the Public Test Servers.

    This version will only revert the change done to the deuterium consumption, going back to the initial changelog:

    tomorrow, 26th of November we will patch the PTS with the version 8.5.0.

    The update will happen at 10:00 CET (09:00 server time).


    Changelog:

    • Pirates encountered on expeditions now have a minimum combat tech level of 3.
    • Aliens and pirates no longer attack expedition fleets which contain at least one Deathstar.
    • Improved the loading times for switching through solar systems in the galaxy view.
    • Fixed several overlays that could not be opened twice without reloading the page.
    • Ship tooltips on Fleet Dispatch I are no longer able to block players from selecting the input field of the ship type above.
    • The fuel capacity of ships is now equal to the ships' current cargo capacity instead of their cargo capacity base value.
    • Several changes in the back end.

    These issues are being addressed already and won't make it to the live servers.

    Tomorrow, 2nd of December we will have an update in the Public Test Servers.

    The following issues have been fixed from the previous 8.5.0 version:


    Changelog

    • Moons cannot be attacked with missiles
    • Espionage reports from moons cannot be viewed in the galaxy view
    • The alliance rank in the galaxy view does not match the highscore rank
    • Replying to an espionage or combat report shared does not work
    • Combat reports cannot be deleted from the trash if they are opened in an extra tab
    • Combat reports cannot be shared to the alliance using the share button at the overlay
    • Phalanx scan and system phalanx scan overlay espionage button broken
    • Event list espionage icon does not send espionage probes
    • Espionage technology information does not instantly update in the event list
    • Empty debris fields do not get deleted from the galaxy overview
    • Planet relocation countdown missing from the galaxy view


    :!:NOTE: Players will probably report a lot of potential issues regarding overlays, messages, and the galaxy view with this update which simply are solved by doing a hard reload (Ctrl+Shift+R). In addition to that, some addons might fail to work since button positions got changed (e.g. different order of the “Transport”, “Espionage”, and “Attack” button when hovering over a planet).

    Tomorrow 7th of December we will have an update in the Public Test Server.

    The update will happen at 11:00 CET (10:00 server time).

    The version brings the following fixes for the version 8.5.0-beta2:

    • Tooltips for the player status in the galaxy view are now properly displayed.
    • The inactivity status is now shown in the galaxy view when the player is also in vacation mode.
    • When the player has no fleet slots available, information about not being able to send any fleets is now shown in the galaxy view.
