Best DRAW I could sim on this at the time with my current fleet composition, a few ships short of total victory here, I didn't want to lose my chance, I had to fast build quite a few cruisers and bc for this target over the last few days.
I watched and learned for this one, at least a week observed including surrounding accounts, did it belong to a big guy?, maybe even a top 200 fleeter, I will have to watch my back for sure, when I take this down, I mused.
Seeing as this account was so active I did wonder if it was a bot of some sort. but it did go fully offline finally, this was the moment. The attack went well, home planet stayed offline, and my spies were out in adjacent systems keeping an eye on the sleeping whale whom surely owned this juicy treat, hmm, activity there is suggesting a pause in attention.
Well, I couldn't delay hitting this juicy plumb for much longer or I would lose my chance for sure, I pulled the trigger and the attack was completely as per the Simulation and without incident or drama, but it was after the successful hit, things got messy and it was a bit of rush job with the Debris and not all of it going to the rightful Victor as planned.
So. I started collecting Debris slowly, I only had 6k recs at the time, how many runs at this massive Debris (comparatively) could I get inside the same system as the target with a purpose built attack planet and fresh moon from a day earlier (the answer is down below, keep reading). I didn't think I had a chance of collecting all the Debris anyway if the owner got online midway through collecting and it seems I was right (or some other lucky sod stole it with fast recs).
Subsequent follow up attacks took place as the owner got online, but I was relentless and squeezed every last drop of sweet Duet from my precious kill.
I got enough out of this to be a little more dangerous tomorrow anyway, though I admit, I would've loved to have raked the entire Debris!
Looks like its back to the Hangars now to build more recs and more cargoes
