Lifeforms - Feedback thread

  • in my opinion, in the current form, fleet players gain a great advantage over miners, because their research allows you to increase the attack, reduce the combustion, etc. of ships, that is, increase the effects of the attack and the miners do not get support to defend against them? The miner becomes an even more tasty morsel, but does not get any spikes to defend himself. In summary, as a result of these changes, the miner is an easier target with more resources.

That's why I won't play the game after the update. It's not a big deal. Some 200-300 euros less for GF a year. But they lose a constant player.

  • how about a new account, if you know dupes?

  • Regarding timebacks, the espionage reports show summary of LF teches across all planets. You would need to check the planet they started from, for modifiers.

As for restarting a new account...well, I haven't checked if mine got reduced like that, but if they wiped all tech levels that'd be annoying as hell.

TLDR new account would only have 10M DM and, even with infinite resources, you'd need to keep making new accounts and upgrade all infrastructure on them just to test a few concepts.

I may do that for some really critical problems, but for generic QA of everything that could go wrong?

No thanks, it took actual 100 hours of clicking to level everything on one account, back when 1s 0 DM research is possible, I wouldn't be willing to even just repeat all that.

performance of server is still too low for me. Clicking lifeform tech tab takes 40-50 seconds, improving a tech or a building takes 20-30 seconds.

If that's the case even after reducing the levels...well, that's how it'd become on LIVE, too.

I am planning opening a thread after checking the game in a few days. I am in VM now.

Server performance issue was there while they were still reducing my levels while I was checking my account. I watched everything getting deleted :ninja:

Now, it seems even lifeform techs were reduced.

I opened a new account and everything seems to be working in miliseconds.

We will see how my old modest big account behaves but I can say (while being in VM) that clicking something takes 10-20 seconds, clicking lifeform development tab takes 20-30 seconds.

After getting out of VM, I will check everything and update here

  • Regarding timebacks, the espionage reports show summary of LF teches across all planets. You would need to check the planet they started from, for modifiers.

but techs can be changed rather cheaply / easily, right?

yes. You're right however, a flight in flight will always land at the time. If you upgrade your combustion tech your cargos already in flight don't get faster. The same applies to these techs. If you were to probe 1 second before an attack launch, I would be 99.9% confident that I could predict where that fleet was returning to and when based on accurate techs gained from my esp report.

  • good reason not to get too attached to an account in the test server - might hurt to watch the deletion happen

ye but I am talking about timebacks

you change your tech now for a fraction of ress or even delete a tech (I think thats possible?)

suddenly you are very hard to time back, because nobody knows the techs you had at the start

  • Yeah, you can reset teches in multiple ways, for free. Timebacks are pretty much relying on them not changing speed before/after launch, at the moment. At least for the fleetsaves, most ship speed bonuses still don't affect deathstars. Anything faster...whelp.

  • One thing i woud like to mention from a Qol perspective , i would rly like to see an indicator for each planet that shows a lifeform tech is researching by default ( cuz i know the extensions for ogame will prolly have one but it would have nice if the default one would have it ) , cuz right now having to go thourh each planet and check if something is done is kidna of annoying even with 10 planets , i cant even imagine how its gonna be with 14 + planets .

    ye well

you see the problem with taht I'd guess?

start a big fleet, reset your techs, build some new ones and unless you got scanned right after start nobody can time you back.

thats fucked up and needs a fix.

already adding all those 5% steps was a big problem and should've been limited to 5-25%. Nobody can rellieably tell 95% and 100% apart now..

  • HI guys, i need some delucidations
There are buildings that "increase tech bonus", same thing does leveling up with xp every race, but what is this bonus?
Until now i can't find what this affect

  • Yeah.

I think one of the proposed solutions was to make the current modifier percentage visible on lanx/overview.

As in, not the speed flight %, but the modifier to the base speed.

Other options would be to make things not affect speed or not be easily changeable, but atm there's too many things that can do that.

  • Please give us DM.. I made a new account and a top account gave me 60G of ressources but I am out of DM, everything takes forever but I cannot stay out of vmode to test things as someone will take those ressources from me while im building...

No DM is probably one of the main reasons no one is testing anymore, especially on the smaller scale

Its was requested by some players and was forward.

Not sure yet when it will happen but we will let you know in advance.

Out of curiosity, the low activity with this thread discussion is mainly because of lack of ways to test the Lifeforms extension after the last balance patch?

    Cheers,

  • Well. Some testing is hard to do without resources. Most of the people are testing have done so from scratch. Not to mention there are still people attacking others. So it makes getting resources from established players on the server pointless when they can just bash whatever defenses you build. It’d be helpful if we had some kind of list of things that the devs are looking at. I’m not even sure where some of the issues are now since the last update we had here. Obviously still balancing issues to sort out since people are still skyrocketing up the points chain.

  • Currently, for my playing in Bermuda, it has become "click and see"..... I just build whatever I can with what ever I have and that's it.

While it all seems functional, I feel very much like I'm just guessing around.

My biggest suggestion would be in the Lifeforms building area, to have it easily shown as to accommodations and feeding specific, building specific, research specific, fleet specific. either with surrounding boxes, or separate rows.

And the actual seeing of the improvements from researches to what was gained from them would be helpful in a feedback to the user sort of way.

  • pushing a mobile app spreads the people willing to test thin as well

  • Well I didn't come to Bermuda to grind for another account. Let just give everyone unlimited DM and a well developed account (14-15 planets) to do all the testing with. Right now it feel like pushing boulders to the top of pyramid.

P/S: Everything get wiped at the end anyway then why not just simply give us something good for a quickstart. Help accelerate the testing alot. I'm too exhausted with job and kids I don't have the energy for grinding a second account in a test server.
