A few days ago I noticed a player on my buddy list going up in points rather quickly. I checked his military score, his research score, and economy score. They add up to higher than his overall score, significantly! I checked my own, and mine add up about 10% above my actual score. What's up with this?

economy includes cargos I belive as does military so you get a double count there

I just recently started playing again but it was like that when they implemented the individual stats high scores

Easy! Defence is double counted - each point of Defence is counted toward both Eco and Mil points.

As stated before defense is counted into MP and eco. Just sum up research, eco and mp, the difference to the accounts total points equals points invested into defense.

With infinity add-on you can see players true points, with defense separated into its own category and removed from economy. You can easily see who actually has strong eco or fleet and who is just a turtle.
Why is it done wrong in-game only developers know.
