Rock tall vs Kalesh

  • Hello everyone,

With lifeforms coming to old unis i was wondering what might be the best choice for a class discover player playing as a miner (doing expos every hour and a half, give or take)

I understand that the rock tall bonuses are great but, is it the best choice? Should i go for both and try to get a decent combination in the tech tree?

    Thanks in advance.

  • If u want to play as discoverer, don't bother with rocktall or mechas at all. One planet keep with humans and all other with kaelesh. If u choose discoverer alliance class u can fly 10% faster to deep space. U can later up this speed with T2 telekinetic drive kaelesh research.

No. Kaleesh is the weakest race and it is completely pointless to use it.

Disco Miner = Rock'tal on all planets + Kaleesh techs for expeditions, including the one on slot 18 (you can choose them with artifacts). Other techs, it is your choice - you can boost production or ships.

I disagree. I play as 100% Discoverer with Kaelesh on all planets, except one that has humans. Here is a SS of my expedition haul today.

There are ships and DM I also found today which are not shown, and they can be used in the fleet or recycled for more resources. And this is all on top of my mines, farming inactives, and raids. Personally, I find it to be the most enjoyable of the three classes. General is fine and fun, but most fleeters quit if they lose their fleet since most of their points are tied to the ships. Mining is steady, but slower. There is no way I could mine ~25M crystal in a day (math works out to about 115k crystal per hour per planet with 9 planets). For me at least, it's worth the investment. 10/10 would recommend. AND it doesn't take up much of your time, unlike being a fleeter.

You screenshot proves nothing. Kaelesh have useless buildings, and you can have the Kaelesh researches with any lifeform.

Rocktal are the best lifeform production-wise, Humans can be better for discoverer miners if they fly a lot of expeditions each day. Mechas are only really suited for full-fleeters.

But Kaelesh? They are pratically useless.

  • Why Ion Crystal Modules? You can fairly easily reach 50% increase for crawlers without it, after hitting 50% increase that research does nothing for you anymore. Artificial Swarm intelligence will never stop increasing your income.

Edit: Just realized you're discoverer, 50% increase for crawlers will be harder to hit without 150% boost then.

Honestly, never reached the Tier 3 myself :D Just reposted from someone else's techs - will take your suggestion into consideration though, thanks!

To me is fine that i can get with Bio Modifier Building more planet fields, with The Ship Manufacturing Hall, faster ship production (like mechas tech building), and use Supra Refractor for bigger moon size chance, up to 9400.

Keep it simple i guess

  • You can get more planet fields from weekly login rewards. Delete small planets as you colonize and Bio Modifier is useless. Faster ship production is gained easily enough through shipyard levels and nanite. Also, you can't make ships faster than 1 second so Ship Manufacturing Hall is a waste of tech space. Finally, a 9400 size moon seems nice, but it can still be destroyed and it is not much larger than moons you get from basic 20% moonshots. Better to use artefacts to select techs that increase resource production.

Just my 2 pieces of metal.

  • Here u go!

For the full miner, it's wrong.

At tier 11, crystal boost is small, but it's better than energy boost. Only Rock'Tal here.

At tier 13, you've got it the most wrong. Rock'Tal tier 13 is useless as a level 3 research, it should have been level 1. Once you reach 50% crawler-boost you won't gain any benefit from this research. Even before lifeforms were introduced I maxed this out on multiple accounts. Tier 13 is mecha.

At tier 15, you can go energy, it's fine, but I'd argue increased DM is better for x9 dm events. You can get the energy you need without the research. Neither research is very good, but I would prefer Kaelesh here.

At tier 17, kaelesh makes little sense to pick. The defenses doesn't have a lot of shield, and the attacker will always overwhelm defenses. You do not want to prolong the fight, because the attacker will make sure this doesn't happen. Your entire focus is on inflicting as much damage as possible on the very first round. So I agree with the mecha choice, because attack is the the most important. Though I'd argue human is actually interesting. You don't need super high WSA-techs as a miner, so they don't give you much benefit anyway. Personally I'd rather have the lifeform researches take less time, because there's so many levels of them to do. If you have 15+ planets you can fairly easily get a 25+% reduction on the time, which is nice when you have several researches to do over and over which all take days.

  • This is just from the ogame LF discord. Works for me, passive miner, would never go on any exos anymore. :)
