2023 Merge Discussion

  • So how you like merge so far ?

kinda 50 - 50 ... there are quiet few anoying people, and seems no lifers on ogame but kinda fun to see so many active people :) it'll all drop off as usual in few weeks :) but atleast there are alive people unlike dead unis witch also have their good sides :)

  • Will the 2 new universes get 30% bonus DM or 100% DM on 30% Happy Day (for all servers opened in the last year), and universes older than 12 months having 100% Happy Day?

Don't let the game play you, instead of that Vmode fleetsave and play the game whenever you want.

from what i can see in Perseus and Quadrantis, the uni age is 395 days, so they will get 100% DM bonus in Happy Hour events... :)

If this is correct then the opening dates are irrelevant when it comes to DM events.

Thanks for letting me know

  • In the back end the universes were set to older so you guys could get 100% DM still.

On the forum that doesn't change the fact the official opening date is actually the 13th March 2023

There is in every one of us, even those who seem to be most moderate, a type of desire that is terrible, wild, and lawless.”

  • The ongoing merges have woefully been an uncanny disaster.

The newly created target universes are brimming with whales, "no-lifers"(posited to carefully and stridently observe you 24/7), in addition to our beloved "credit card warriors".

Such a tremendous time investment is required should one wish to enjoy the rudimentary aspects of Ogame, time that many unfortunately lack(also including myself amongst that lot).

as much as i agree, you also forget that many players have legitimately earnt their Points, but the ones who observer 24/7..... lets just assume they are using what "Must not be Named"

  • Something went wrong.

I might have misread, misinterpreted or misremembered the guidelines, but i was under the assumption that, upon merging, our accounts would have been put automatically in vmode without the minimum time constraint. Also, having buildings or researches under progress wasn't a problem.

    Instead:

    1) my account wasn't put in vmode; i was counting on it, because of IRL stuff happening the following day, and therefore i had no other option than vmode manually, thus being subject to the minimum time period and losing most of the 9x DM event;

    2) the building orders disappeared and the resources weren't returned; i lost a crystal 37 (ouch), a nanite 7 and a lunar base 8.

I'm asking for clarifications here before opening a support ticket because i'm not even sure that i understood things correctly. Is *this* the expected behaviour? Did i get it wrong? Or did the system barf?

Can someone with better understanding than mine shed some light on it please?

EDIT: Danimanza tagged to get attention on it, sorry for the inconvenience.

If you merge while being vmoded, you merge vmoded. If you merge while out of vmode, your account is vmoded in the target uni until you login. So you shouldn't have logged in, have a friend check if you're vmoded and you'd be gucci.

Got it. Thanks for the explanation. Makes little sense to me but it is what it is.

  • Absolutely, I am not "complaining" about the legitimate whales in the slightest, as they have reached the pinnacle of their respective accounts through sheer honesty, dedication and hard work(admirable as it obviously is), as you have already stated yourself.

What I find unnerving and disheartening is when such accounts are "conjoined" into a new universe with others from recently opened, underdeveloped ones.

In other words, the unfairness of the aforementioned decision will only serve as a catastrophic long-term strategy, resulting in a displeasing game experience.

  • 1) The accounts are moved in vmode, that it's auto removed at your first login

    2) The accounts are copied exactly like they were in exodus with all queues. If this is not like this, and you have evidence (videos or screens), you can open a ticket.

So the merges finished and all accounts that didn't select any target were randomly moved today.

Merges finished, when we will see life forms old universes ?

No, we will need to wait more time until all the problems related to lifeform on old universes are solved so we can enable them there.

The small accounts should be able to survive at any old universe if they play smart and stay unprofitable...

  • Server setting poll for Perseus and Quadrantids?

The merge is done and people have chosen where they want to be. When the settings were chosen before the merge, it seemed like quite a few people weren't happy with the results. Since you could only vote for Perseus and Quadrantids as a package solution, now might be a good time to let the actual players of those universes decide what settings they want.

  • voting to change unis should be abolished now that they have the target uni system. it should never have been a thing in the first place, but with people trapped in dead unis for years, i get it why it was allowed.

you have a destination for each major playstyle, and then you can join fresh if you want to try something new.

  • Are you literally under the impression there exists some short of "counterplay" against individuals that have amassed thousands of Deathstars?

At some point, MD missions become laughably inexpensive, rendering the "tracking" and "obliteration" of a prospective target's fleet an immensely effortless task.

Here you actually have a point. The phalanx wasnt originally designed to be an automatic death sentence. People need to start reporting their recalled deploy hits for automated phalanx clicking, and GOs need to start rigorously investigating these hits. You can spam refresh for about 15 minutes before your brain goes to mush, and anything more than that is likely automated. People actually come onto the forums and claim theyre hitting refresh for 10 hours straight, which just shows how brazen and normalized the cheating has become.

  • If there are so many bugs for life forms, why can it be activated in new universes?
