Intergalactic Envoy Flight Time Calculation?

  • Hello,

tried using the search function but could not find a thread tat dicussed the issue that I am having with this lifeform tech.

from the ingame description of intergalactic envoys:

"[...]They also reduced the duration of exploration flights to detect other lifeforms in the Galaxy view with each level."

checking this tech, you can see that it provides a bonus of 1% for each level researched.

I did the long haul and got it up to 100% across all my planets...

... expecting a 100% flight time reduction on envoys, to be able to spam them...

... which clearly is not happening. I admit, might have been a little bit TOO optimistic to expect to have instant envoys, so clearly, the distance from launch planet is not the only factor that adds to the flight duration.

so perhaps, there is a fixed flight time, that does not get reduced, and instead, it reduces the duration added from the distance?

... apparently not? as you can see, a 100 galaxies distance results in a 24 min flight time, a 200 galaxies distance in a 32 min flight time.

    so the question is:

what the F*CK is being reduced by "100%" here? because it's clearly not the flight time, and if it does, it clearly is nowhere near 100%

    is this a bug?

is the tech description just a straight up lie and false advertising?

    someone enlighten me please, thanks

    Approved the thread.
  • what the F*CK is being reduced by "100%" here?

Nothing. With 100% research you will have a 2x base flight speed.I think it has the speed of small cargo with a 20 Impulse drive and you just did add 1 time base speed to the total speed.

Drop the tech on all other planets and keep it on just one so you can still send galaxy exploration.

  • Under Player Bunuses panel you have clearly stated Current Bonus % / Max Bonus %

So what does 100.45 % mean? Max value (or any value that exceeds max value) %/ Max value % is exactly 100 %

Does this mean resources bonuses from other research does stack infinitely or is this capped at 100%?
