Battle Simulator

  • I know there's not much value in being the "i told you so" guy, but this has been the weakest link of the game from ages, and a major blunder by the company itself.


    A vital part of both the gaming experience and the community experience, that is battle simulation AND combat report conversion, in the hand of a single individual, not affiliated with the company, who does it purely out of his own free will, who receives no payment whatsoever and therefore has no contractual obligations whatsoever.


    Well, that individual can decide to take it down at any moment and without notice, for whatever reason or even no reasons at all, and there's nothing you can do about it.


    Lesson learned the hard way, i guess?

    Any other sim is not even close to trash-sim was.


    Does ogame not have their own battle simulator? How does the server calculate the battle it must have all the information etc to function. Shouldn't be to hard for them to make their own simming tool for their users to use, i know, grazy idea to give your users the tools to play your game....

    I know from experience that the dev from Trash-sim has been asking for help for years but got left in the cold by Ogame devs.


    Good luck opening up new uni's where people cannot sim battles. Should be a fun time. I expect people to not bother much anymore unless they play miner mostly

    The problem is known to the GF teams and taken seriously.

    Lets see what comes of it in the new year when we will be able to get some answers for you guys, GF is in holiday season until then so I wouldn't expect an answer until the new year at least.


    Soon as we hear of anything worth sharing regarding this issue you guys will hear of it first on the forum of course.

    Since it is not a secret now, this may bring you some joy although sadly not available just yet.

    Gameforge should have worked with the original developer of Trashsim for something as detrimental to the game as this is instead of half-assing it on their own with their devs that honestly don't seem to be able to roll out fully vetted and functional updates to the game with much success as of late...if ever. Especially if those GF devs don't even play the game, or if they do...they're only playing a passive playstyle of some kind.

    I'll look into making the original TrashSim code public.

    I think it's time to make it available to the community.

    Plz bring it online some time, until we can have an alternative. The community can give some donations for the Christmas? What do you say?


    Btw, @GF, I won't buy dark matter until we can have an integrated simulator like TrashSim.

  • Good for you Mr Pro, it's a tool to avoid waste deuty.

    It's an approved tool, so it's fair.

  • Trash-sim is a real loss to this game.

    It's good news they are now working on their own sim but it will take some time for it to be a tool ingame.

    We can say a lot of things how they on this subject, it's not like any of our comments are ever reaching their eyes.



    Untill that time, its going to be pretty much guess work when attacking someone.

    This will be a interesting time, im guessing fleeters will choose for a holiday because it's pretty much unplayable if you want to do hits.
