The marketplace ideea was good it just needed some good restrictions and not to be able to sell ships on marketplace ... just resources and items.

I knew it wouldn't stop when they brought out the first redesign. The game as shown below was awesome, easily customizable with skins, light on resources, and functioned very well. In the name of progress, the game has become worse. Many quit with the introduction of officers, lessons were not learned. Many quit with the redesign, lessons were not learned. Many quit with the mergers, lessons were not learned. Many quit with the crappy Marketplace, GF actually removed it but didn't learn anything from it. Many quit with the class system, lessons were not learned. OGame used to have over 6,000 players per universe. Most dwindle down to about 600 now before mergers begin happening.
This update is the Windows Millennium Edition of OGame.
damn we should suggest GF adding option to chose "skins like it was before" or design you want to use, like its normal in everygame... lol.. we should push that vote towards gf..

Or, even better, outsource the whole development branch to Bangladesh. In spite of the language barrier and a general sloppy attitude toward coding, chances are they would do a better job than the indigenous folks have been doing lately. Also, they would save on salaries, double whammy.
The Q&A branch should instead be outsourced to a bunch of chimps. Give them a computer each and watch them play randomly with mouse and keyboard. Same considerations as before.

The fact they refused to do a roll back knowing what they implemented is complete trash and incomplete says plenty.
Probably the dude responsible for the entire thing is someone that potentially doesnt even know how to fix things but is counting on the addon developers to try and fix it from their end and make his job easy. Good view on life,let others do my thing.
Instead of organizing the biggest protest a game has ever seen,the whale miner accs won`t stop with the metal packs,and thats all they need,1 of them per uni.
Once hit in their pockets,they will listen,but that has never been done sadly and not likely it ever will be done as some people simply enjoy seeing high numbers too much to be able to resist.

Even I cannot defend this one in any conceivable way.
The only way this happens is lack of communication, loss of passion for your work and poor management.
Perhaps it is time to rethink internal strategy and process and come back stronger.
If this was due to being forced to meet a deadline perhaps realistic time frames need to be discussed going forward.

The disappointment running through this thread is palpable and there isn't really a lot I can add to that. It turns out that Gameforge's disrespect for the player base also extends to the dedicated folk who run the third party apps. If one good thing comes of this awful process I hope its the likes of RiV getting more respect and consideration from Gameforge. Until then and without Antigame the game is unplayable. Hopefully Gameforge learns from this that player experience is rooted in the underlying gameplay not the graphics and other cosmetics.

I'll add my final word here because it is obvious to me that our complaints will not be addressed, so i'll make one last attempt to get it through.
There's something very simple that, for some unexplicable reason, you all head honchos at GF are failing to understand. When a player looks at a spy report he's interested in one thing: information. Clear, easily accessible, easily readable information. Nothing else matters. All that fancy graphics you, in your infinite wisdom, decided to add is completely useless to him. Worse still, it's confusing, messy, hampers readability and forces him to spend extra seconds to process the information, figure out what's going on and decide what to do. Seconds that, in some cases, he does not have.
As of now, the best way i have to get a clean, complete, quickly understandable spy report is to copy the API and paste it into a simulator. Go figure.
With this new update, you didn't take into consideration the needs of the players AT ALL. You probably listened to some sales or marketing drone who told you that having fancy graphics all around is cool because that how the web in 2024 is, and went for it. Your development team is either too incompetent to notice, does not care enough, or weren't listened to.
PLEASE. GET. RID. OF. THAT. GARBAGE.

Yep the entire concept is trash, its poking my eyes each time I open my messages, they`re trying to modernize something that should absolutely not be modernized.
Like the game wasnt dropping people fast enough these past couple years, this is just gonna finish it off, myself included most likely.
Its gonna be a miners game and occasional whale buying more metal mines with packs, if your goal GF was to organize one final caboom,mission accomplished.
Suppose these smarty pants coders can go focus on another game now to ruin.

until GF shows third parties and players some respect.
Just so there is no confusion, respectfully, I will not be playing Ogame without AGR.
