Uni 1 - Settings Change

    dissapointing that a vote so close still doesn’t get a change. Any chance of a recount?


    Thanks to everyone for the support, massive improvement over previous votes. Not sure to be sad or happy with being at 69% so close yet so far! Couldn’t write it.

    And even more reason why we absolutely need to lower the % from 70%. In what world is a 69% majority not enough to implement change. Madness.


    Board mods / Community managers - whoever. You really need to rethink this 70% majority, it's absurd. If you won't go down to 60% then you need to be proposing something else. 65%? Change Vote % to 60% Ingame

    Weight of vote must be a function of player dedication.


    - Average daily play time

    - Age of account

    - total money spent on the account

    - etc

    If only this was implamented in real life :D. How much you contributed that is how much your vote is worth xD.

    Also this is your double edged sword :). I've returned so basicaly i got only 2-3years worth of play time in this uni and i voted for increase in DF...I think what you wrote should actually work more against you :). Usually the older population doesn't want change, not the new one ^^

    - for every hour of active daily play time which is calculated as daily average over the last 365 days, player gets 7 points.

    - for every year the account stayed in uni 1 in its entirity, player gets 2 points

    - for every x amount of cash the last player on the account invested, the player gets 1 points.


    10 points equals to 1 voting right.


    Feel free to tinker with the values or create your own algorithm. I am not willing to put much work or thought in it since i m not actively playing anymore.


    But the fact that a player who lives and breaths the game has equal vote weight with a miner who spends < 30min a day or a filler account is ridiculous. Dedicated players are the ones who makes the game tick and they should be rewarded for their commitment.

    well, if no discover will be made, like Russia manipulate the votes , then I guess see you all here in 6 months time(start of new year) to debate again 😉

    That's what everyone says until they don't want to get left behind on the leaderboard/fleet size. Let's your growth records do the talking for the next months and then see ;)


    No surprise at the result but surprised how close the vote actually came to succeeding. For those who want 70% voting to go, I know this is a high bar and I felt the sting of it when I tried deut to DF by itself; however, simple majorities or lower standards creates the opportunities for someone and a few friends, and friends of friends to stack the ballot box without nearly as much effort as 70% creates. 70% is a deterrence.


    For example: The poster on the board chooses what the poll should be and the only thing needed is for the board posts to back one particular suggestion. If I posted 70% DF; 70% didf, deut to debris, 5x fleet speed and then had about 30-40 of my friends make a board account posting in favor that would secure the poll for that stupid setting. For all the money that is spent on this game, someone with bad intentions could easily offer a little RL $$ (Like $5-20) to people to create an account, submit a vote and then get the settings you want? All those players have to do is vote in game. We only had 312 votes so if you gave all of your friends $20 and they gave their friends $20 you could easily buy the vote for $3,000 which I know is less than what some have spent on packs, boosters, officers, etc. You would then be in control for at least 6 months and then after that the accounts are already made so you could likely stack the box much more easily next time around with the gifting code rules etc. That whole scheme cost 1 person 3K but to an alliance of say 10 who really wanted something $300 a pop is chump change when I know the heavy DM users are plunking down $200 a pop when a sale happens.


    Let me be clear, what I just said could happen is sleazy, underhanded, and downright despicable, but with the money and time that moves through this universe, I am not sure how much more motivation someone actually needs to create something like this. Surprised it has not been done already actually. For that reason, 70% is a high but reasonable bar because it deters something underhanded like I mentioned above. It could still happen and I am sure it has somewhere, but it is far more costly this way.

    He loaded up on cheap Lira DM and be done with spending. He and his insider friend are among the culprits who ruined it for players from TR.
