  • I remember one of my first sins in life back in 2008 when I stole an account from a friend of a brother who later found out and threatened to kick my ass because of it... I was only 14 y.o. so I hope I have been forgiven.

Also remember my first Ninja hit on Diler Planeta back on Uni2.ba, he was a brightstar there and I was just a nobody, they made jokes from how a kid ninja'd him etc.

Also worth mentioning is almost getting kicked out of school for being away almost half a year because of OGame sessions in the town library... Ahh I could just sit and watch the numbers & listen to YouTube, Ogame brought me so much hype back then, the hype worth ruining your life for...

Still one of the best times of my life, if not the best.

  • I remember, roughly 18 years ago. That we could still have an actual opinion in public.

I remember when IRC was a thing, and communication with GF/team actually happened...

There is so much positivity to look back to in those first 10 years.

the latter 10, however - I don't realy have a positive footnote on.

    Congratulations, I guess.:beware:

  • I studied English here in game playing.. 12 years ago... teammates helped me to pass English tests... got my job .. and basically all I have now is thank to them and to Ogame...
I kinda miss old days... but I like game how it is now too,,, good people,,, nice small talks...

At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime." - Leman Russ' last words

  • Through the Stars: An OGame Journey

In the endless expanse, where galaxies shine,

We build our empires, one fleet at a time.

From humble beginnings to battles hard-won,

We conquer the stars, our journeys begun.

Each mission we take, each alliance we form,

Brings triumph and glory, our fleets in full storm.

Achievements and avatars mark the way,

A universe of adventure, where we choose to stay.

Through lagging moments and bugs that persist,

We adapt, we endure, we fight and resist.

We chart our own course, through trials unknown,

In the OGame universe, we’ve made it our own.

But amidst all the wonder, there’s something we lack,

A call for transparency that never comes back.

For behind the stars, beyond all the play,

Lies silence and questions that won't fade away.

  • I remember when i joined uni3 in March 2005 there were around 15 000 players. And no DM. The game was financed by big adverts. I recall perfecting my English there when i finally got internet at home. I recall the moment when someone said that someone "prolly made a hit" i asked who was prolly.

I got one of the best English grades of my promotion. Which says a lot about the level of my faculty. :P

    Uni 3 and 1. Retired.

  • Hey guys,

    I haven't forgotten you!

I'm still waiting this weekend to see if anyone else wants to participate and I'll be distributing the 3 coupons

  • I have to admit, with as many players who have been kicking around since the early years of OGame, I was hoping to see many more stories.

    Here's mine:

When I first began playing, I had zero interest in the game. Many of my friends no longer had time to hang out because they'd found this "great new game" (not actually 'that' new... they had all joined universe 14 when it opened) and were spending all of their free time on that. Partly out of curiosity, but mostly to mess with them, I created my own account.

To make sure my player name wouldn't give away my identity, I opened the dictionary and picked the first word on the page (this was back in the days of dial-up, when it was significantly faster to look things up in books)^.^

I was eventually found out, but by then, I had already become addicted to the game. The Empire alliance was my first OGame "home." After a couple years, many of them lost interest and moved on.

With the shrinking numbers, new friends were made and a new alliance was formed. StoVoKor (Kahless was responsible for the name) was my new home for the remainder of universe 14. When the first big merge to uni 1 happened, many more players left. Although StoVoKor made the move to uni1, most of the founding members did not. With real life getting busier, and after losing the close community from uni 14, I finally decided to walk away after 6 years of playing.

At the time, I had no intentions of returning.

A few years ago (2018-ish I believe), I was cleaning up old Facebook groups and came across my uni 14 group. I decided to look up OGame and see if it was still a thing. Not only was it a thing, my account was still just as I'd left it, and StoVoKor was still "alive" although only 1 or 2 members were out of v-mode. I played for about a month, but without friends, the game just wasn't as fun. I abandoned my account once again, this time for good (so I thought).

Fast forward to December, 2022... I was incredibly bored one day, and began to clean up the laptop bookmarks. Instead of deleting OGame, I decided to login and see if any of the old names were still around. I didn't have any of my old login information, so I created a brand new account in uni1. Once again, I had no intentions of sticking around for long, but this game has a way of luring people in (the community is a HUGE part of this). ANYWAY... Most of the names I remembered from my early days were in perma v-mode. Even though I knew basically nobody, I decided to poke around a little bit. After finding the link to the discord training channel on FTN's alliance page, I found the reason to stick around for a bit longer... that sense of community. Jex and Yomi, along with many others, offered endless advice and support. With all of the new features, it was almost like a new game, so that help was much appreciated!:D

After finally wearing them down, I was invited to join FTN (I kid... I'm still not exactly sure why Jex invited me... I'm also pretty sure he still wonders the same thing!) I nearly didn't accept the invitation because I had concerns about one of the members... I've since come to realize that's just how Nick is:upside_down:

There are really so many great people in this game, the list is too long. In some ways, I'm enjoying this 2nd round of OGaming more than the first. I'd give shout-outs to everyone responsible, but then Slevs would probably tell me I talk too much, and I'd likely forget someone anyway.

I do have an obvious favorite, and not just because he bought me chicken pants:loveeyes: He knows who he is:* (Another OGame perk^.^)

    On that note...

That's probably enough rambling from me...

In closing, I just ask one favor, whoever has the power to do so, please get that creepy peach off of the discord welcome stickers... Whoever thought that thing resembles anything like a warm welcome, was delusional.:nono It's not even cute... it's just disturbing and needs to go away!:D

  • Hello there!

A few days ago, i was browsing through the threads on the board when i saw this thread, and wow, it was so long ago. Damn, how much time has passed...

It was a time when if we weren't quick enough to enter in the first days of the new universe, we might not be able to do it the next week since the server would be full.

At that time, it was easy to be top 1; I've done it myself a few times (it was 1x speed). The sensation was good. I know, i know, i was top 1 with only 1 point, but who cares! :rolleyes2: However, that also meant dozens of in-game messages asking you to join alliances. Little did the players know that as soon as i went to sleep, by morning, i would be like everyone else—top 1400 or something like that. Ahah

The initial days of the new universe are the busiest. You’re busy doing stuff in your empire (every minute counts since everything takes a long time to build), and also exchanging messages:

    - "Hello neighbor"

    - "Do you want to create an alliance?"

    - "Do you know how to play?"

    - "Do you play in any other universe?"

    - "Will the alliance be big?" In this case, "big" means that the alliance will be that one alliance in every universe with more than 90 players. :w00t:

I guess most of the messages are almost the same today, but now everything is easier to understand. Back then, since the game was still a new thing, creating a new alliance felt like a part-time job. You needed to make not only the cool text but also find an image that no one else had in their already existing alliances. It needed to be the coolest image of the universe, as if we were all marketing specialists. And of course, that would have been a complete alliance if it weren't for a private board with that simple chat feature. :airborne:

There were parts when i messed up my gameplay, like deleting that small colonized planet i had settled before going to sleep and used to move my fleet overnight. But then i forgot that i had moved all my fleet to that particular colony. When i woke up in the morning and wasn’t fully alert yet, i saw the fields of the colony and went to delete the planet.

The exact moment i entered my password and pressed confirmation, i thought: “Wait. Did i move my fleet here? No... It can't be...”. There was rush of adrenaline that hit my body, and after one slow confirmation—like that helps! —the hope was gone. That day, i “swore” to myself that i wouldn’t make that mistake again. But of course, it happened again in another universe. Rule number one: Don’t play OGame tired! Eheheh.

    And here’s another story...

One time, the top player saw my fleet stop at a colony (not the deleted one since it disappeared forever; I still remember it to this day :crying:), and despite me being online, he sent an attack. Little did he know that one hour and something minutes of travel was enough for me to build 600 light lasers (more than enough to deal with those large cargo ships and heavy fighters) and ruin his entire plan! Ahahahahaha!

After double-checking his ships and doing all possible calculations in my head, i just needed to log out and wait for the kaboom! Then, after checking my clock for the attack time, i logged back in—and there it was... but something was wrong with the kaboom. It wasn't the exuberant and fascinating victory that i'd anticipated; he completely destroyed my defenses and stole my resources! How could this be possible? It was a bug? And then i checked his combat techs... Yep! That was what was missing! He had more than double my combat techs! How could I forget about that? Ahahaha!

After remembering these stories—and many others— I decided to enroll in some universe. Although all universes are important in their own way, I registered in Universe 1. I know... it started 20 years ago, but i have a plan, i will be humble and ask nicely for resources!:squint: But i promised myself that i would not be greedy and would only ask the top 10 players of the universe, however, as soon as i checked the top 100 ranking points and saw top 1 with 100 billion points, my humility disappeared completely and i send messages to all top 100 players—even those with special colors, the blue one blue! Ahahahahahah! And out of nowhere, my overview started filling up with ships! The sensation was good; they answered my distress signal and sent help! Their gesture will not be forgotten; I even put their names in my ally so they could see when they checked my ally ranking at top 1 of alliances, or maybe in the top 350 (currently) of alliances! :rolleyes2:

And that's enough for today! Thanks to all people who make this game better!

P.s. Don't forget—OGame isn't everything, nor should it ever be everything.

  • Time to **SHINE** like a Diamond**

    My Ogame story!

It all started back in 2006 in 2nd grade of my high school. I was messing around with my friend, and one day we went to the library to get books for our class when, all of a sudden, we saw his friends messing around on a standing PC (a low model touch screen) pushing some buttons, like Ash Ketchum throwing Pokéballs around to catch a wild Pokémon. We greeted him and sneaked a peek behind his back, like "Wow! What's that?"

He said it was some browser game called OGame. We instantly "fell in love," but our biggest problem was that none of us had the internet back then. Even phones had 2G with almost no internet, but we weren’t rich, so no one even had one to try it. So, from time to time, we started almost "competing" to see who would get a turn to stand there and push the screen. We even skipped lunch sometimes and used our lunch money to pay for PC time to browse for a while

Even though we were friends, we didn’t even know what we were doing... we just had fun. And once, on occasion, his friend, who told us about the game, went to crash us since he was "one of the few who had DIAL-UP, YES, DIAL UP" connection at home. Hehe, but luckily, we had a PC science class, so he dodged it successfully. After school, there was almost a fight between them! LOL! As days passed, we got more and more addicted, spending our time in the library, and even our parents were so shocked, like, "GAWK!" I was a noob back then, with no internet or such.

I remember one occasion that was totally funny. I went to my village, and I was like an addict shaking, wondering if I'd make it home in time to see if all was safe. At that time, in 2007, a PC Club opened, where even its owner played with his wife and friends, they were top-ranked on the server. When I logged in, I saw red electricity, no resources, no ships, and I even asked them, "WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BUILDINGS? DID SOMEONE DESTROY THEM?" and they just laughed so hard that I was blushing red from embarrassment. As days passed, I played when I could. Then, one day, my friend told me he couldn’t play anymore at home because he had racked up such an internet bill that his mom literally smacked him so hard that he wasn’t in school for a few days! LOL! To compare, he spent like 1.5/3 of his mom's pay on the internet bill. Hahah!

After that, things started getting better since I got a mobile phone in 2009, and ADSL internet came, which was a big difference! Imagine going from downloading a 3MB song in half an hour to downloading it in 20-30 seconds. The new people who don't know that struggle can't be called gamers! Haha

But then, in 2009/10, college came. I was all alone in my house and could game a lot, but since my friends lost passion, I also started drifting away. But ever since, I've still been playing on and off whenever I can. Lately, I’ve given myself a goal to fulfill, and I'm not stopping! After all that experience the laughs, tears, rofls, and many emotions, I still love it. It drove me toward teamwork, and passion and love prevailed! Even nowadays, it feels amazing to be part of this beautiful game, even though it went from being free to all this DM stuff. But hey, it's keeping it alive, so we have to adapt and play for fun, not for competition anymore :)))

That is, in short, my story and one of the funny moments! Thank you for spending time to read it! :)))
