Equalize DM usage for new server

I've played another browser game which has a subscription of only 5$ a month, while having a way better management, more active and involved developers, constant updates and a pretty big player base.

the subscription is not mandatory, it gives only a slight (but still desirable) advantage and playing without paying is possible and pretty balanced since you can have most of the advantages of the subscription plan using the in-game currency instead of subscribing.

how do you think OGame compares to something like what I described?

personally I don't see how it can even remotely work what you and other people are asking:

- 10$ to play something like this aren't worth it

- there are no more players to make it sustainable with only a monthly subscription

- the game is fundamentally pay2win and I wouldn't expect GF to make it balanced for both the subscribers and the f2p users

I've already said it and I'll say it again, it's weird to see people still talking about this after 4 years that I've been away from OGame.

even back then it was way too late to talk about subscriptions, no DM universes and similar stuff.

fast forward 4 years and it's still the same useless discussion, just with less people left who waste their time here.

the game is old, like similar games.

the times of 15k active players ended long ago, I don't even know how someone can be so delusional to say that a subscription would bring back 3/4k players.

This type of suggestion cannot be voted on or sent to GF.

And, as I said in the other topic, GF is aware of players' complaints and desires for different servers, and the subscription option is one of the ideas raised by the communities, but to date it doesn't seem to be part of their plan - or at least we don't know about it.

In any case, the day they feel it's necessary to do something, they'll surely do it without any suggestion, since anything to do with their finances is probably one of the company's top priorities, and they're the only ones who know exactly what they can do (or not) to make their business profitable.

i agree, adding a subscription isnt going to boost player numbers.

the problem is that this game is an old, browser based game in 2024.. browser based games are dying, and most are dead. ogame will follow the same path and im sure GF knows this. they will be happy milking this cow for as long as they can.
