Myself and a couple of the FTN guys got a wild hair a year or two ago and wanted to do something that hasn’t been done in ages (at least not in Uni 1)… we wanted a colony ship HoF. Myself and (please forgive me if I am remembering incorrectly as it’s been a couple years) Walter were speaking with Shalimer who agreed to fund us both the res for 1m colony ships if we use them in a hit. We both agreed and I even built an additional 1m for lolz. Many many years ago when I played U29, there was a crazy old fool named Ram Rok’d who made the very first colony ship-only HoF. I still remember laughing about it back then.
Months and and year(s) went by and the dust began to collect on my mighty colony ship army as opportunity neglected to present itself. Got my hopes up of seeing my beautiful colony ships in a top 10 against Amotion, but that opportunity failed didn’t it Amo. I began to wonder if the world will never get to see the most underrated and underused ship type of the game. Until today….
Now I’ve crashed Baloons more times than I can count. When I saw him deploying his cargos to his planet below on a slow deployment, I knew my time had come. I launched a couple of waves behind his deployment heading towards his planet and sat on my lanx waiting. Caught the recall time and the rest is history.
Spoke to Baloons afterwards and he was a great sport. I was a bit further behind his returning fleet than I thought (or at least according to him), but he was still unable to escape. Wish you a speedy rebuild mate.
