Player Retention Ideas, Import Export Update

    So not a huge suggestion for this one but I think with my limited knowledge of coding easy to incorporate. What we know:


    1) Ogame tracks players point totals, to give ranks (duh)

    2) Ogame tracks number of days since last login (obvious, inactives)


    Right now what level of item you get in the import/export is independent of these two factors. As an example, you get 1:4:16:25 going from platinum to bronze (I don't know the actual rates but you get what I'm saying).


    I purpose updating the import/export items to have a dependency on both of the above factors (rank & activity).


    a) So lower rank players get a higher chance of getting better items.

    b) So more active players get a higher chance of getting better items.


    The idea is that these are changes that will help active smaller players in a way that cannot be taken away by raiding, and as improve in rankings you start slide back into the regular ratios zones.


    And I say this from a position where this doesn't benefit me. I consider myself above the rank where this would have meaningful impact.

  • I would suggest modifying the random nature of what the player can get. Let's say GF leaves the random value as is, but instead of then also randomizing the actual item, the player could actually CHOOSE from any items in that price range. GF would not have to lose any DM spending, as the Keep would still be free as it is now, but the CHOOSE would still cost as it does now. But the choice would be the entire range of items within that price category.

  • Similar to what starman said, this could be "exploited" by players purposely not spending resources while they build up on plat/gold items for a while before they start to grow. I dont think import/export is the place to look for something like this.


    Personally, I have brought accounts out of vmode for Rewards Events and then put them back into vmode after. Something like permanently running rewards weeks but with bronze/silver rewards and having a gold at the end of the week to work towards, and then resetting on a Monday for a new week of rewards. Similar to a battlepass, but free and not requiring Comm Staff, and then when they would run the normal Rewards Event, that weeks rewards are juiced up and better. Just my random 5 minute idea.


    But your idea is cool, I just dont think its going to have the desired effect

    I guess if they really want to hold onto them yes it could be exploited in that way. But remember this isn't like every item is going to be plat/gold, it just makes it more likely.


    As an example say you get 36 plat in a year right now from i/e ( I don't think the ratio is that good). for someone who maximizes this might get 54. So a full year of doing nothing really on the account to get 18 extra plat. I will say that is commitment.

  • nah, all shop items obtained via f2p means rather it being expo/import/auction or rewards should have always been timed or restricted , i dono what gf was smoking at the time but this is precise issue they created now


    ppl complain about free shit at the same time upset they cant hoard 2000 shop items they obtained for free, its not good for business


    there is no need to rework import/export a single bit
