Help changing species on a planet

    I unlocked my first new species, but when I attempt to change it I clicked "deactivate" on Human and it's now greyed out, but I'm not able to activate the new species (Mechas).

    I even tried destroying all my lifeform buildings thinking that may need to be manually removed, but no luck.

    Go on overview and see if you have a debuff that doesn't allow you to change it next 72 hours. I think you can swap it instantly only if you haven't done it in the last 72 hours.

    I do have that debuff for 48 hours, but it also says "it is still possible to select a life form if none have been selected yet" but I don't see how to select one, or if there is anywhere it says what my current life form is.
