Re-roll invetory items and merge them into a different random (higher value) item

    i dont know if anyone has suggested this in the past but since everyone's invetory is becoming bigger and better the more times goes by and with these new rewards items like expedition turbo or resource booster etc


    so the idea is since not everyone is using everything or playing all playstyles(disco/fleeter/miner etc) -i know people switch but many of them either play all time disco or all time miners or vmoders fleeters etc etc

    so if a player has 100 items like detroids and he is miner the idea is he has the option to re roll the time and get a different one random ofc but maybe he ends up with something of this choice - so 1 free re roll and 1 more optional with dm cost or something like that

    then route b is to have like the option of collecting 3 items smaller value like 3 bronze metals boosters forging them together and get free bigger value item (random) like free gold detroid or something

    thats like a first thought it needs a lot of work to become a solid option to be considered but it will give more options so we use everything like for me i m a fleeter and especially now with the introduction of limited time items re - roll ing them into something else that i can fit into my current playstyle or merging all these times / forging them into a diff perma item etc would have been a nice option to have without affecting losing the games balanced

    example me re-rolling expedition turbo item for something random but different so i can use it (cause if i am fleeter and item is limited its just getting wasted so why not 'trade' it for another free item that i can use) or forging/merging diff smaller value items for a gold/plat one

  • I agree in principle. Some suggestions. (numbers put in just for explaining purposes and subject to change)


    1) The worth of the lower items should exceed the worth of the higher item. (Well almost always)

    i.e You merge 13 bronze newtron to get 1 gold newtron. or Five 10% boosters to get one 40% booster. This is because much like the scrap merchant there is loss.


    2) The number of items you merge changes the chances of the different levels of the item ladder.

    i.e you merge 5 bronzes. 99% of the time you will get a silver, 0.9% chance of getting a gold, and 0.1% chance of getting a platinum.

    You merge 13 bronzes. 50% chance of getting a silver, 45% chance of getting a gold, 5% chance of getting a platinum.

    You merge 49 bronze. you have a 25% chance of getting a silver, 40% chance of getting a gold, and 35% chance of getting platinum.

  • Maybe you can call a merchant at couple Ks of DM price and it tells you how many lower items you need to get the higher item.


    e.g. to turn bronze detroids into silver, you will need a random number of bronze detroids, such as between 5 and 8.


    25% probability - 5 bronze

    35% probability - 6 bronze

    25% probability - 7 bronze

    15% probability - 8 bronze

    Glorious 1 is back in town. If the next couple sentences make sense to you, you are at risk.
