  • I was recently visiting a brocante in the Provence region in France, when I stumbled upon an unusal artefact. The artefact was a crystal ball, which allowed the user to see into the future. The seller told me that it once belonged to an ancient Aztec tribe.

Excited, I rushed back to Monaco to try out this peculiar spherical object. The first thing that came to mind was to try and see the Master's future. Numerous questions floated through my mind, will I get the honour to get obliterated by the GOAT, will the Master make a new #1 worldwide hit, will the Master carry the same succes in real life?

I waited until dark to use the crystal ball, which by then had lit up with a distinct phosphorescent purple glow, and what it reveiled really appalled me. Inside the ball were some cloudy visions of all the Masters previous accounts.

The accounts mostly shared a common denominator, and I can only assume a similar fate for any current and future accounts. It is a direct effect of transcending above the regular Ogame players, your greatness gets mistaken for fraud, trapped inside the void between the divine and us mortal men. But rest assured great Master, they can take the man out of the game, but they can't take the game out of the man :)

  • I decided to call MasterMind last night, after a rough day at work. We recently had a change in management and, following said changes, my new boss has started being all up in my business, constantly harassing me about playing OGame during working hours. (I’ve filed a formal complaint to HR, so hopefully this should be resolved quickly.)

MasterMind sounded happy on the phone, having just left Lisbon earlier in the day following his KAS event this past weekend that can only be described as incredibly successful. The MEO Arena had gone wild multiple times, with the venue literally erupting as the Master and Benito came onto the stage dressed in Kaelesh suits.

He also told me he had just recently completed another 24-hour Le Mans stint, in the form of being out of v-mode in OGame. A truly impressive feat, only accomplished prior by a small handful of people, further cementing his unwavering dedication to the craft.

Furthermore, I thanked him for his role in mediating the therapy session between me and my wife last week, although despite his best efforts it hadn’t exactly gone according to plan. When the day of the counselling session finally arrived, MasterMind created a Microsoft Teams meeting titled “Operation Marital Rebalance – Phase 1.” The moment we joined, he appeared on camera with three monitors behind him, each displaying different OGame graphs, and opened the session by saying, “Let us evaluate your alliance stability thoroughly.”

When my wife asked why her photo was labelled Hostile Fleet A, he sighed deeply, as if she’d already disappointed him, and said, “It’s purely technical. Hostile Fleet B will be added once we invite your mother.” He then made us fill out a compatibility quiz he had cooked up himself, with every question being OGame related.

My wife lasted about eight minutes (a new record) before she slammed her laptop shut and left the call entirely, right after MasterMind asked if she would be open to “fleetsaving her emotions on a more consistent schedule”. I quickly apologised for her behaviour, but MasterMind didn’t seem bothered. He just looked at me through the webcam and said, completely calm: “Do not worry, most people rage-quit the first time they come into contact with me.”

The Master had a point, his greatness had many times prior resulted in people feeling a deep sense of anger over comparing their own inadequacies to the flawless being that is the Master. I thanked him again for offering his services before he reminded me to send him the payment on PayPal. After having done so, I felt a change of topic was in order, and so I congratulated the Master on guiding T1 to yet another Worlds title, his guidance having just pulled them across the line in a 3–2 banger series. MasterMind chuckled before telling me that Faker is a giant noob and was close to throwing, ignoring the Master’s explicit advice of picking Malzahar in Game 5 to close out the match convincingly.

Then he informed me that he had to go. Apparently, he had another Teams meeting scheduled. He told me it was an introduction call for some newfound disciples who’d recently shown great interest in his teachings. We said our goodbyes, and it wasn’t long after before I FS’d my fleet and fell asleep watching some guy pitch a toothbrush subscription service on Shark Tank.

  • I just told you a nice little bedtime story about your Master

funny since he lives rent free on your head, not mine.

Be gentle with ms-h4x — he’s already dealing with the emotional aftermath of watching his entire crew get utterly dismantled. That alone is a lot for anyone to process… no need to make it even harder for him. ^^
