Planet size

  • The idea is simple, 50% bigger planets when colonization slot 1,2,3,4,5 for the collector, and 50% bigger planets colonization slot 11,12,13,14,15 for the general.

If I see the nicely colored picture beneath, the max size for your colony on slot 5 being collector would be 348 fields.

For the General the max size on position 11 is 315 fields.
My is idea is to have more diversity in the solar system, instead of seeing only planets on position 8.

I am not sure about the added 50% percentage, the picture beneath is a little bit outdated.

  • The sizes are only a problem for the slots at the high end of the system. The problem at the low end is the sub-par crystal related bonus compared to the two other.

people generally don't have high slots for two reasons; Metal packs and relocation costs.

    Your suggestion resolves neither.

  • Interesting way of coming at it but I don't think it will work the way you want.

    1) Discovery already gets a 10% bonus on planet size colonization so that benefit for it goes away.

    2) what's to stop people from switching classes to get the colonization bonus and then switching back. With out often the game gives out class changes it is very easy to do.

Not dismissing the idea out of hand but I need to ask if it really either a) balances the game or b) honestly expands the playstyle.

  • You won't see any diversity with this idea because 90% of the players only care about slot 8, metal bonus and metal packs.

I would love the idea for my own slot 15 setup, but we have become nothing more than a quirky minority in this game.

  • I think the 50% would be too much.

Let's say you are a collector, hitting the jackpot on position 1 with a bonus of 50%.

    (number of fields) √172×1000 = 13114 + 50% 6557 = 19671 / 386 fields

Not sure if my calculations are correct.

    Maybe 25% - 30% is better.

With 30%, the maximum number of fields on position 5 will be around 394 + a bonus of 25-30 fields, depending on the universe you play in.

Now you have a choice: a lot of fields on your planets without any metal, crystal, or deuterium bonus,

or stay on position 7, 8, or 9 with the metal bonus.

    Godiva,

The obtained class items currently expire after a week. With this idea it is useful to wait for an extra level of astro and switch to Collector or General for a few days.
