Account suspension without Bot/Script – only due to online time?

  • Hello everyone,

I hope I’m posting in the right section.

My goal here is not to start a discussion or request my suspension to be lifted, but simply to ask the community if anyone has had similar experiences.

My account was suspended with the following reason:

    "Bug & Script & Bot & Program – malicious use – closed"

The suspension lasts until January 19, 2038, 06:14.

After my appeals, I was informed that the suspension would not be lifted.

During the process, no concrete evidence was provided for the alleged points.

The only reason given was my online sessions exceeding 20 hours, along with the following statement/rule:

“According to the game rules, online times of this magnitude and continuity can no longer be considered manual and natural player behavior.”

It was also emphasized that my very long online times played a decisive role in the decision.

    My question is:

Is this a clearly defined rule in the existing game regulations, or is it rather a one-off decision / new practice?

I receive no further response from the assigned support system; inquiries are closed or no longer answered.

Since OGame is centrally operated by Gameforge Germany, I wanted to ask here in the forum whether other players have had similar experiences.

I want to emphasize that I did not use any bots, scripts, or external programs – my account was simply logged in for a very long period.

My questions to the community are:

    • Have there been cases where players received problems or suspensions solely due to extremely long online times?

    • Are you aware of similar situations?

In the rules available to me, I could not find a clear statement that long online times alone constitute a violation.

This post is not a public complaint, but intended to understand whether this is an isolated case or if other players have had similar experiences.

Thank you for reading and sharing your experiences.

Changed the title of the thread from “Sperre trotz ohne Bot/Skript – nur wegen Online-Zeit?” to “Account suspension without Bot/Script – only due to online time?”.
  • Hey,

This type of topic comes up very regularly, whether on the forum or on Discord.

Yeah players explain that they have been sanctioned without cheating, because their playing time was considered too high and therefore suspicious.

The problem is always the same: a ban is individual, based on data that neither the community nor the forum has access to.

A player may claim to have done nothing illegal while actually having broken the rules, or it may be a mistake, but in either case, no one here is in a position to verify it.

Even if several players reported "similar" situations, it would not be possible to draw any conclusions, as each case is analyzed separately by support.

(and, as I said, we don't know who's telling the truth, who's telling everything that really happened, etc and we don't need to know)

Of course, the game rules do not clearly define a "threshold" for what is or is not suspicious.

Nvm, this topic will not lead to anything concrete, so I'm closing it!
