What happens if I accidentally delete a colony with my entire fleet on it?

    Hey everyone,


    This might sound like a silly question, but it's been on my mind and I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere.


    I play as a heavy fleeter, and I've been thinking about something that honestly scares me a little. What if I accidentally deleted a colony that had my entire fleet stationed on it — not because of a bug, not because of an attack, just a plain human mistake on my end, clicking the wrong button? Would my fleet just be gone forever?


    As far as I've always understood, OGame's policy is that mistakes made by the player are non-recoverable. I always assumed the team wouldn't roll back a decision I made myself, no matter the circumstances.


    But now I'm second-guessing that. Has anyone ever been in this situation? And if I opened a support ticket after doing something like this, would I even have a chance — or would it be a guaranteed "sorry, nothing we can do"?


    I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has some insight into how this kind of situation is actually handled.

    Changed the title of the thread from “What happens if I accidentally delete a colony with your entire fleet on it?” to “What happens if I accidentally delete a colony with my entire fleet on it?”.

    First of all.. I doubt you "accidentally" will delete a colono, since you have to go through a few clicks + you need to accept with your password :D

    There was a guy doing this with his moon in Aries a few years ago. I don't know if he ever created a ticket or anything, but he lost a good chunk of his fleet. And tbf, let it be a lesson if you somehow manage to do that in the future :P

    Advise: Always triple check the moon/colony you want to delete before you actually go ahead and delete it

    The game mechanics makes you lose your entire fleet, it is non-recoverable.


    I'm not sure if it is still works, but there was instances where allies (or enemies) would attack the destroyed planet, destroy the ghost fleet and harvest the debris field.


    I would suggest to first rename your planet with a dedicated name (quite different from your other planets), then delete it. Thus in the confirmation box you can more easily ascertain you nuke the correct planet.

    Control Panel -> Settings -> General -> Display members’ signatures -> NO

    Way back in 2005/2006 the rank 1 fleet (Aral maybe, I forget his name) guy deleted his mobile with his fleet on it. I still remember the whole community freaking out over it but there was nothing even an admin could do. His ally helped him recover it


    Back then it didn't ask for a confirmation so it was a bit easier, but I still always worry about deleting the wrong one and double check 😉

    Doesnt work anymore, A player deleted in french aries his colony aswell, opened forum, ticket etc, just got as aswerr your fault, we wanted to attack didnt work anymore like it was in the past

    I'm not sure what you mean by "doesn't work anymore".

    I just nuked a colony on Alpha, then attacked it, fleet and resources were still on the nuked planet with 0 tech.

    It seems to work fine.

    On the french server, we couldnt attack with fleets the deleted planet where his fleets was


    PS: oh well seems to work, no clue if there was admin interaction or not then for that case after he complained or maybe its quit a few time ago, because he dropped points instantly after planet has been deleted, fleet has been removed during deletion ? dont remember the exact reason we couldnt/didnt attack
