I fought a bandit, I got 100% of loot, they got some honor points in the battle and they were no longer bandit after it.
However I lost honor points in the battle, game can detect they are bandit to give me 100% loot but somehow I lose honor points as non-bandit?
Bandit hit 100% loot but negative honor?

That's because you can have bandits that are not honorable if your military points are higher then theirs by a good margin, usually x5 difference if I'm not wrong 🙂.
Titles have nothing to do with honour points, only the strength of your military points affects it.
If it was innactive was a different matter. As far as i know on innactive players you don't loose honor points.

It literally says "All battles against bandits are honourable" literally on the title

I can only say from my own experience how honor points work in this particular scenario.
Bandit with yellow nickname is honorable.
Bandit with white nickname is not.
Only the yellow nickname players regardless of their titles are honorable targets and if they change the colour after the first wave then the followups becomes not honorable and capped at 50% loot instead of 75% unless the target is still a bandit where most of the time you don't need a second wave if you can get all in one go due to 100% loot.
Innactives don't count for honor points as far as i remember.
That was my experience so far with honour points.
In time you can experiment yourself and see if I'm right or not 🙂

I'm not saying you aren't right, but it's just description is wrong.

I think they changed it, definitely used to be all fights against bandits were honourable but that no longer applies anymore

Let me try to rephrase what Klan said.
To not confuse one thing though, military points make no difference in whether you are bandit player or not. Attacking white players will give you negative HP so that is how you become bandit. You can remove that status by attacking HP targets (here military point difference decides who is HP) and farming enough of those points to remove your negative points. So i think what Klan was trying to tell you is that there is possibility that your target was a "small" bandit, meaning he had just a tiny bit of negative HP points that pushed him into bandit status and fight against you earned him enough HP to remove that status so thus the fight gave you negative points. Basically HP for that fight against you outweighed his entire negative bandit points which pushed him to be a white player for you which makes it unhonourable. Honestly it would be great if some GO confirmed this but i think this was just a silly coincidence.
BTW i think you already know all of this i just rephrased it a bit to try and make some sense

Have you asked on ticket maybe?

edit: btw how many rounds (not waves) did the combat last? Could it be that if it lasts 3+ rounds that you actually destroyed enough ships in 1st round that he removed his bandit status so next 2 rounds gave you negative HP
? Seems like it could be this? -
It is likely, he was on the verge of bandit first round *may* have removed it, if it's how it works.
But gotta try a higher bandit point while player to try it if it actually works that way or was it coincidenceDisplay MoreLet me try to rephrase what Klan said.

I'm not saying it's not possible but id be surprised if the game calculates and accounts for HP mid battle (round to round)
My thoughts are the description is correct and it's a bug or they changed this and didn't update the description, I'm betting the first
-
Still got no target to try this, but then loot wouldn't be 100% though? Or it could be pre-decided at the start of fight but uh I would assume it would calculate after fight is won/draw/lost to see if any loot is taken at all, even though other is possible I have no clue

They simply never bothered to correct it. They're too busy inventing new ways to extract money from the usual suckers.
