    PROJECT ORION

    SIGNAL RECEIVED

    Explore. Fight. Plunder.

The biggest OGame update in years is live on the PTS. For the first time, you'll face NPC enemies in a brand-new wave defense system. Hold position with your fleet, fight off randomly generated NPC fleets wave after wave, and collect loot for every wave you defeat. Ships, resources, Dark Matter, lifeform XP and even premium items are waiting. But every mission is publicly visible: others can steal it from you or attack you directly. Prepare your fleet.

    25+ MISSION TYPES | PvE + PvP A FIRST FOR OGAME | MEGA ALLIANCE CO-OP | ∞ SCALABLE

    [ 01 // COMBAT LOG ]

    PvE meets PvP

NPC enemies arrive in OGame for the first time.

Pirate fleets, hostile defenses, even Deathstars as enemies: Orion brings a whole new class of threats to the universe. Use your combat fleet to repel wave after wave of randomly combined NPC fleets, or send your transporters on peaceful missions, hold position and collect resources and rewards. Collector, Discoverer or General: every playstyle now has its own objectives.

    [ 02 // PUBLIC OBJECTIVES ]

    The galaxy is watching

    First come, first served.

Your IAS scans for anomalies, and you decide which mission to spawn. But once it's active, it appears in the overview for the entire galaxy. Grab missions that others have spawned. Protect your own from thieves. Face PvP raids, or team up with your alliance in mega groups for coordinated operations. Real co-op PvE is finally here in OGame. Or, if you like a risk, try co-op PvP with 2x the rewards.

    [ 03 // ENEMY CONTACT ]

    No two waves are alike

    Endless combinations. Real tactics required.

The system generates endless NPC fleet combinations. Their composition and size scale with your IAS level, and so does the loot. But random doesn't mean chaotic: every wave follows a tactical logic designed to test your defenses. Send the same fleet every time and you'll go under. Read the threats, adapt and react, and you'll clean up.

    [ 04 // ECONOMY ]

    New currency, new paths

Lithium conversion & food as fuel.

Lithium powers everything in Orion, and you produce it by converting metal, crystal, deuterium or even your lifeforms' food. At last, surplus food has a real use. New building decisions, new investment strategies: whoever converts the smartest wins.

  • To help you, a FAQ has been created by Dr. Gilderoy & NiNN (thank you guys)

    Q: What is Orion?
A: Orion is an expansion for OGame intended as a more interactive alternative for expeditions. Discover anomaly missions and send fleets to either battle waves of NPC enemies, or complete peaceful deliveries, both of which yield great rewards.

Q: How do I produce lithium?
A: Lithium is given in small amounts from upgrading the new building, Interstellar Anomaly Scanner (IAS for short). The building itself does not produce lithium on its own, but allows to convert metal, crystal, deuterium or food into lithium at different ratios. Note that it is possible to go into negative production with those four resources, and thus conversion will be halted if the stockpile runs out.

Q: How much lithium can be stored?
A: Infinite. It is only used for scanning and claiming rewards. Lithium cannot be traded or stolen otherwise.

Q: Do I need to build the IAS on every planet? Does it take up planet fields?
A: Building and expanding the IAS allows to increase the hourly lithium production and unlocks more difficult anomalies to investigate. While the IAS takes up planet fields, the "sub-buildings" under the Control Centre in the IAS tab do not.

Q: Should I always scan with the maximum anomaly level?
A: While higher level anomalies provide better rewards, they are also more difficult combat wise, more expensive to scan, and cost more lithium to claim their prizes. If there is a shortage of lithium, it is recommended to decrease the anomaly level limit.

Q: What is the difference between PvP and PvE missions?
A: PvP missions are twice as rewarding, but the fleet sent on the mission can be attacked and recycled by other players.

Q: What kind of rewards can be found on missions?
A: Resources, ships, lifeform experience, artefacts (this cannot exceed the normal 3600 limit) and exclusive premium items.

Q: How are mission rewards received?
A: Missions can consist of 1 or more waves. The rewards can be claimed at the end of each wave (the claiming cost will be divided by the number of waves) or at the end of the mission. The rewards are delivered by the system via a phalanxable transport to the planet from which the mission was accepted (the rewards will be delivered to the planet even if the mission was accepted from the moon).

Q: I forgot to claim my rewards after completing the mission, is there any compensation?

A: No. After the mission is either fully or partially completed, any prizes have a one hour limit after the final wave's arrival to be claimed before disappearing.

Q: What happens if I don't have enough lithium to take the full rewards?

A: Rewards can only be claimed partially then.

Q: Does the Orion content interact with lifeforms in any way?

A: No, but there are two exceptions. The General class now provides a boost to the rewards earned from missions, which can be increased with the Mecha General Enhancement lifeform tech. Food can now also be converted into lithium.

Q: Is it possible to ACS together with other players to complete missions?

A: Yes! Simply invite your alliance members or buddies to join your mission like a normal ACS attack. The rewards are automatically divided based on the resource ratio between the fleet values sent by each player to hold and defend the position. Note that currently this feature is not available in universes that have ACS disabled.
