Sure, maybe the crystal slot bonus could be slightly higher, but I don't know how it's any different than before really. It's not like people used most of the (upper) slots anyhow. Unless you tried to find a 'big' slot 3, built a bunch of terra, and reloc'd to slot 15.
If you really wanted all the slots to be decent, why not have 2-7 give a combo of metal and crystal bonuses. Or make all the slot bonuses temp-dependent to provide some randomness.
There should be some crappy slots. Just like there are crappy places on Earth where you wouldn't want to live.
Display MoreTotally valid frustration, that many has expressed before. You forgot to and also could change final values to MSU (3:2:1), as it is normal exchange value on the Resource Market; then the values get even worse.
To be real, I don't think there are any potential solutions, because as the cost of the mines and the base production of the mines is set up in a way you could never get same overall MSU production on different slots. I even think it's mathematically impossible (if you don't change the core mechanics/equations how production and cost is calculated). Metal mine's production grows the fastest1, while cost of Crystal mine is the worse. If you include bonuses percentages and how they are distributed right now, then you get a mess we are all familiar with it. I say it's impossible also because how economy speed skews this values even more (i.e. makes Metal mines scale even faster, makes Crystal mines even worse by comparison).2 But that's just my feeling based on experience; someone can prove me wrong here.
The closest solution I could think of is to reverse engineer production values. By that I mean, predetermine overall MSU of all three mines, then calculate different production of each mines in different slot, so that the MSU stays the same. But if this were true, of course everybody would want 1st place, since most players needs Crystal, so there should be some small change so it will be balanced. However, all this is a bit too complicated for excel spreadsheets, therefore a bit to complicated for Gameforge.
For a start I would say, there has to be an overhaul of Crystal production bonus. Minimum to +80% at first slot is a good start, and so on down the line. But I don't see how to easy fix 2nd, 3rd and all other slots, other than 8th and 15th. Maybe they should just stay inferior.
[1] Metal and crystal mines produce the exact same amount of MSU/CSU/DSU (using 3:2:1) at any given level (without slot bonuses). So, metal production doesn't "grow fastest" in real terms. And, if you compare the SU production increase per level at slot 1 vs slot 8, slot 1 crystal mine production increases slightly faster than that of a slot 8 metal mine. The deut production lost is a separate problem.
[2] If you are talking about production, econ speed is irrelevant -- production increases linearly. The amounts of m/c/d produced relative to each other is invariant wrt speed.

recall deploys make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. being a bot makes it that much better

had fun trying to screw up. at least it paid for the ships i had to build to win, so i don't have to blow them up to build mines
thanks botty mcbotface -
made me so happy
