guys back off from marsh why so much hostility towards the guy in this thread ? :headbanging:

Because plenty of people have acknowledged the work of the GOs and community staff and already pointed out that their frustration is directed at GameForge's managers, not the representatives here on the boards. Despite this there seems to be a level of hostility Marshmello is exuding in his/her posts to other players. Not just here but in a number of other posts I've seen from Marshmello in other areas of the board as well. Might be burn out but I think Marshmello needs to take a vacation or something for a bit to cool off. It's not good for his or her health to be so stressed.

Iphone 4S updates stop at iOS 9.3 if I remember correctly.

They don't roll back fleets as far I know. So basically, they'll still lose their fleet. They might ask you to send the resources back to the GO but there's been at least one case before where a fleet was duplicated and no resources were sent to the GO. Regardless, the defender will still lose their fleet so if you hate the other player enough...

I appreciate your openness to communication instead of locking down threads immediately Blackmass. Thank you.

I would like to offer feedback in regards to data collection and the purpose of polling. The purpose of the poll as stated is for Gameforge to collect data on what universe specs would garner the most interest based on the poll results. However, if the poll results at the collection point do not match up with the poll results after the collection point, then doesn't that mean the data at the collection point is faulty? Statistically, the more feedback and data that is gathered, the more accurate the dataset is. Thus, the poll results after the collection point would generally be more accurate than the poll results at the collection point due to having more voting results. Again, it was stated that the purpose of the poll is to collect feedback so the next universe would have the specs that users prefer. Wouldn't it be in everyone's best interest to report to Gameforge the poll results after the collection point? Otherwise, everyone gets upset because the specs are not what the users wanted, and Gameforge's revenue from the next universe will not meet expectations due to the universe not meeting with consumer preferences. It's a lose/lose situation if the current procedure is followed.

Responding to the argument then stating that you are done arguing as soon as you do so is a disingenuous way to try to get the last word in as an attempt to "win" an argument. It also shows that you were clearly not done arguing because your entire post was arguing against the opposition's viewpoint. Please be open to interpretations other than your own and review my other post again.

"Vulcan's entire post is centered on the topic of universe merging by using data as evidence of Ogame's inability to retain players as a supporting argument towards his stance regarding universe merging and is therefore perfectly relevant to the thread."

His statement, "Mergers alone will not cure the problem as they will be meaningless to new arrivals," is the conclusion he has come upon as a summation of the statistical data he has reviewed. He uses GameForge's lack of response to all the player feedback regarding merging and interprets it as to what he perceives to be GameForge's strategy in regards to merging. Both key points are relevant to merging and his thoughts about merging.

I'm not sure why you are attempting to slander his argument by claiming that it is off topic and is merely complaining. A r e s and baal's first two posts on page 4 do not contain the word merge in them at all but you are singling out Vulcan's post as off topic? Is it because you are opposed to his viewpoint? Do you have an agenda to direct unfavorable opinion on his argument so others will not be swayed towards his argument? I apologize if it seems as if I am personally attacking you. I wish to understand your viewpoint and intentions more clearly.

Vulcan's entire post is centered on the topic of universe merging by using data as evidence of Ogame's inability to retain players as a supporting argument towards his stance regarding universe merging and is therefore perfectly relevant to the thread. Mike, you are either are showing blatant disrespect by not reading his post properly or you are lacking comprehension in communication skills.

It is the continual opening of new universes that is causing the player base to be small and fragmented. It is a necessary process since Gameforge's greatest profit margins seems to be in these early stages of the universe. However, to counteract the continual fragmentation of the player base, it is essential to conduct merges to rein in the fragmentation process as well as reduce the resources needed to maintain multiple servers, staff, etc. Although it may have a significant upfront cost in time and resources, the nature of merging servers and centralizing resources means that merges should be saving Gameforge money in the long run.

    Summary defender(s)
    Metal: -289.786.023
    Crystal: -125.737.804
    Deuterium: -26.579.795
The defender(s) lost a total of 442.103.622 units.

The ranked 6 in the server knows how to properly tag posts. You need to check more carefully Enel before making claims though.

    Excellent hit attacker. GLOTR defender.

The good thing is that I have yet to have gotten a logout while scrolling through galaxy view now. Excellent work.

However, I've been experiencing more frequent auto-logouts when idling when it's nowhere near server reset.

My first esp attempt on whenever I switch to a new planet/moon in galaxyview is always "an error occurred" without fail. Then maybe every 10 or so scans, i intermittently get it as well. Been going on like this since...I dunno, at least since the merge. Maybe before, I don't remember. You're not alone in this issue.

It happens most frequently when going through galaxy view but it even happens sometimes when launching fleets or just simply switching planet overviews. Some say that it's because of clicking between screens too quickly but there's been times where I've been inactive for about 20 or so minutes, change my planet, and get logged out. This has happened a few dozen times a day, and it certainly wasn't anytime near the server reset time either. Extremely inconvenient.

I remember back when we could customize skins, some people would just use a blank skin instead, meaning no graphics need to load. It would be nice if there was a graphic-less or at least a lite version people can select as an option that prioritizes load speeds. Odds are they won't implement the option though.
