call me a nub or anything u like but i need some more explanation
so 15th slot in a ss is good for deut production, in long runing uni that makes a lot of difference, but has low planet size
slot 1 gives a lot of sun energy with satelites, usually for garvitons, but why else would you try to get your planet up there ? or slot 3 for that matter, inst 1 better for the energy?
So here is the state of the game before this announcement, you are correct in most of your aspects so far.
Slots 1-3: Closest to the sun so has the best energy output for your Solar Plants and Satellites.
Mid Slots: Has the chances for the biggest fields
Slot 13-15 (furthest from the sun) Is the coldest and produces the most deut, but has the lowest chance of fields of the 3 zones of planetsThe 1-3 slots are mainly used possibly just temporary to get Graviton. Mid slots are the most simple zone to colonize as they have the largest fields with the flexibility to build the most. While deut is the most valuable resources and Slot 15 helps that, the counter is a small field count.
Here was the restriction on planets however. If you colonized a planet in mid-zone for the biggest fields, you were unable to relocate that to 1-3 or 13-15 zone. If you think about it, if slot 15 had the handicap of lowest fields but you were simply able to colonize mid zone for the biggest size then relocate to 15, that would make the "perfect" planet.
So after mid zone, slots 1-3 has the next "biggest" field count. Since planets in slots 1-3 and 13-15 ARE ABLE to recolonize in each other's zones, people were colonizing slot 3 for the "biggest possible" field count, then relocating that to slot 15 to have the "biggest" field count in the spot that produces the most deut.
Part of the reason why this is a big deal right now is that a lot of people invested time and resources in the slot 3 to slot 15 long game strategy. But now Gameforge is removing that restriction of mid systems not being able to relocate to to 1-3 and 13-15 with this update saying that now, people can relocate any planet to any spot. So very understandably, those who chose this strategy are feeling like they are getting the short end of the stick.
I hope this was able to explain the situation. As I am trying to just explain the situation, if anything feels like I missed something, please feel free to add.

I agree with Runner's post as no one is being forced to relocate.
The fact is, this feature could have been released any time this past year, and people will heavily dislike this as they still have had invested in the slot 3>15 stratagy. GF doesn't release too many features so this change, going forward, is a good thing.
I probably going to get some hate comments but how I've played this game, I'm of the minority opinion that I am glad for this update.
As many have said, this is a stratagy game, and by no means is one stratagy the ONLY stratagy. One stratagy was people to don't slot 3>15 + Terra to get the most out of their deut mines now. I approached this differently with my account. I focused on mid systems spots for maximum fields. So my base fields would most likely be more than those with Terra. So while slot 15s can produce more deut, my long term vision was that having more mines to produce more can be the other side of the coin to less mines that produces more.
I think these are two stratagy with no concreat "correct" path.
So if a new change effects the majority of players make it wrong? I don't entirely think so. Each path someone takes has advantages and disadvantages. Some people reap benifits sooner and some later.
Yes, because of how I choose to play, I benefit being able to relocate to 15s for more deut production.
But if you want to take anything away from what I said, it's this:
There can never be a "good" time to implement change. As the OP said, some will like it, some will hate it. But it might not necessarily be a wrong thing.
Just my 2 cents.

A very massive hit indeed! Its going to be extremely tough to top this HOF!. Kudos to the attacks with all their planning. Sounds like the defender was a dedicated player as well, hope you rebuild and continue on!
