  • Expo turbo booster pricing

    Thanks for the response. I will use math to come up with a price and maybe folks can comment if it's fair.


    Assumptions: we need to assume that the prices for the +1 +2 +3 slot items are fair, which I agree. And if GF is generating decent revenue from them, you can probably keep them that way.


    I will use my current Mars account (x8 friendly) to come up with the price. Slower friendly fleet unis will of course benefit more from the item. So the price I came up should be the highest GF should set them at.


    As stated previously, I'm a hardcore discominer and utilized these expo items to their fullest extent. I run 16-17 waves of expos per day depending on the day with 15 expos per wave. On a perfect day without any delays, I should have 240 - 255 expos per day. For simplicity sake, let's just use 240.


    I average around 14 delays per day, and I typically leave those delayed expos behind and let them rejoin in the next wave. So on average, I should have 226 expos per day without using any delay reduction items. If i use a 100% delay reduction item, I will gain 14 runs extra per day, which gives me 14x90 = 1260 additional expos through the 90 days period.


    Now let's compare that to the +3 slot item, which is priced similar to the 100% delay item. Since I run 16 waves per day, +3 expo slot will get me 48 additional expos per day, and gives me 48 x 90 = 4320 additional expos through the 90 days period.


    From an ROI perspective, the 100% delay reduction item should be 1260/4320 = 30% the price of the +3 expo slot item. Please keep in mind that majority of the ogamers probably have more life than me and do not send 226 expos per day. The less expo they send, the less this item is worth to them.


    Now let's talk about the 75% 50% items. If i use the 75% item on Mars, it will give me a 3 minute delay in my expo return time, the smart thing to do is to delay sending the entire wave by 3 minutes so i can send them together. If I do it this way, it will eventually resulting a reduction of an entire wave of expos per day. So I will lose 15 expos per day, which ended up the same as if I didn't use the item and just let the delayed mission sit out on the next wave. So to me, this 75% item is worthless.


    We all have busy schedules and I believe most of us are sending expos in batches as opposed to waiting for a single mission to come back and send it out by itself. the 75% and 50% items do not really have any real value in this scenario let alone their ridiculous price.


    Conclusion: The price of the 100% delay item should be maximum 30% the price of a +3 slot item. A fair price for them for majority of the users should be anywhere between 10-20% the price of a +3 slot item.


    Of course, I don't understand why some people would throw thousands into this game to buy pack, maybe it's not all about math, if GF is generating good revenue from the current pricing, good for them. Thanks for paying for the server cost for the rest of us and I hope it's a sustainable business model.

    And I have to agree with Astrall here, Kaiser worked hard for his hits and everyone on this server knows it. He is annoying AF but his hits should be respected.

  • Expo turbo booster pricing

    I'd like to suggest a rework on the pricing of the expo turbo boosters. Personally, I love these items as I'm a hardcore expo miner running 200+ expos per day. I'm a DM user, however, I don't use DM to pack but rather to get officers, expo/fleet slots, and facilitate my overall gaming experience. The reason is not because I cannot afford packs but rather it ruins the whole ROI calculation, which is very important to me.


    The delays in the expo runs is definitely very annoying and an item like this would definitely fall under the "facilitate my overall gaming experience" category. Bottom line is that I will buy these and will make them a regular item to spend DM on.


    The only problem is the pricing. The 100% delay reduction is almost twice the price of a +3 expo slot item for the same time period. The benefit you get from the +3 expo slot is at least 10x if not 20x the benefit you would receive from the 100% delay item. The ROI simply makes no sense for me to spend my DM on.


    I don't know what kind of revenue GF is generating from the current pricing but I can assure you that you are driving away a large group of potential users for the item with that ridiculous pricing.
