Packs are only a problem if you care about your highscore rank.

Ogame had a very serious player retention issue. People would spend 5-6 years building a big account, lose their fleet overnight (often due to matters outside their control), then retire.

Al, Ocelot, Isaac, TC, pretty much any player who's been hit recently and rebuilt would have simply left the game previously. And ogame would likely have shut down years ago as a result.

Also, for the sake of keeping on topic... I do not know what this "Baal" is, but it sounds disappointing.

And if those players really want only their legacy settings they can stop playing for 2 months and move to uni1.DE via the graveyard.

Only not all of them can do that, can they? The reasons for this are stated throughout this thread, in the comments you claim to have suffered through.

"This concept might be confusing for you"... What makes you think that?

Pretty much everything you've said so far, to be honest. You're being deliberately obtuse.

Jeez, those Dorado boys really cry a lot. I'd be almost happy when that universe closes... :rolleyes2:

    *facepalm*

The whole point of them opening a legacy universe is so people can play with legacy settings. I understand this concept might be confusing for you.

You've got people who joined the server purely for this reason, who have invested lots of time and potentially money in this server, to then have the server changed and them thrown into a uni without legacy settings. You know, the same ones which enticed them into the universe to begin with. If you can't see why the players might be upset with this, then I don't really know what to say.

If you want to stand up for gameforge's decision making process then happy days, go nuts. Don't however criticise people for being vocally upset with what for them is a very disappointing situation. Also, if you can comprehend this many sentences in succession and have gotten this far, kindly stop being a cock. Thanks.

Reading this is giving me a headache. Half the comments are comprised with little more than deranged screeching.

I like the idea of three target universes, and Universe 1 being one of them. I do however think Universe 1 requires a DF increase to at least 50%.

What's happening with Dorado is sad, and there must be a better solution. Yes, Cathedral's getting a little over-excited but for good reason. You expect people to invest years of their lives and hundreds of dollars on the game and then you do this to them. You can do better, you just won't. It's not good enough. I don't play there myself as I was out of the game when it opened, but if I had been then I would have - and I'd be as annoyed as he is.

Now to sit back and watch Gameforge quench their thirst with the tears of players' unfathomable sadness.

I like the idea of 3 destination unis with 1x fleet speed, mid speed and max speed. Throw all the sharks in the water together and let the strong survive.
I also like the idea of 6 galaxies and 50% DF which I believe was suggested earlier in the thread.

I don't play in Dorado, but if the whole crux of that universe is that it's a "Legacy Uni" then it seems a bit crazy that they'd be forced to leave that. You're promising people one thing and delivering another. If I did play there, and I were forced to merge into anything other than that, I'd feel cheated. Of course, the reality is money talks.

If there is a possibility to let them merge into a legacy uni on the german server, which having read through the thread seems to be the case, I think you'd be at the very least obligated to allow that move.

...After 7 long years, the Penguins are back.

I'd like to dedicate this one to Robert Muldoon, Son Heung-Min and Gameforge for supplying the two Platinum Detroids on the rewards pass 3 days ago.
