    A discussion doesn't lose its value just because it doesn't lead to visible change right away.

    This discussion is ~3-4 years in the making, and it looks like in both merges it lead to nothing. Why have the discussion in the first place then if you well know the history is going repeat over and over again? The "We hear you message" doesn't do anything for people which might have invested thousands of euros in a new uni just to be merged into perma vmod. The issue is that gameforge is not even listening to the desire of the actual customers, which spend crazy amounts of cash monthly, let alone to the normal every day player. So at the end of the day in this thread we are all of us just a bunch of monkeys which spend their time, energy and some of us the money just be taken as fools who will believe that one day we are going to be listened. Spoiler alert, might not be anybody left to listen to by then :tongue3:

    But hey, just open new servers, have the noobs pump the cash and then keep toss them once ever 2 years, looks like an amazing business plan so far

    Taking into consideration the costs and profit affirmation, I think for GF it will be more profitable if close accounts get merged together since only then the merged people would actually spend the money for packs, in the current situation if I am having a 1b account and getting merged into a #1 200b server I would just stop wasting my money. But if I have a 70b acc and get merged into a #1 200b points server, then there is a true competition. In this spirit I think this might be a way better suggestion for the merges:


    Group 1:

    Exodus: 252 (Wurren), 253 (Xuange), 254 (Yin), 256 (Aries), 122 (Vega), 90 (Lacerta), 199 (Undae)

    Targets: Universe 1, 198 (Thuban), 255 (Zodiac), 257 (Bharani)


    Group 2:

    Exodus: 258 (Ceres), 259 (Delphinus), 260 (Eris)

    Targets: 255 (Zodiac), 257 (Bharani), 198 (Thuban), 261 (Fafnir)


    + Universe 1 x2 fleet speed increase and 50% DF


    Like so you still have a wide variety of server to choose - x1, x2, x3 and x5 while still having the change to dodge the big whale servers

    As people said, this merger is complete BS, forcing players on smaller unis to merge into the old unis where they stand no chance. A more interesting merger would have been for example U1, Vega and Lacerta, leaving two slots open for the smaller servers as target and an U1 update to x2 fleet at least. But in the current set-up is so obvious that 90% of the players will land on Lacerta and Thunban, making U1 and Vega pointless in the merger...

    This hit was in long making, but looks like my perseverance finally paid off.

    In the start of this year, around February, Mr KoK took a liking in my tiny fleet, managing to catch me not once, but twice with my pants down. After this two well done hits he started to stress me with hundreds of spies every day, hoping he will be able to catch me off guard again, while being a jerk and bragging in the discord chats. Since I was not having that much time available to play I didn't build a fleet of my own in order to put a stop to this, but instead I've decided to set him up with a little trap and let Rya due the dirty work. While on fs for the majority of day with my main, I was keeping a small fleet lying around all day long on a separate moon, doing idles and colony fs in the hope that eventually he would work up the courage to go after it. Unluckly for me it didn't worked from the get go, since he was confident to launch only with insta moon in the same system or just one system away, seems like spy&fly is his max capability. Just recently he finally got interested into the samll fleet since he wanted so bad to post me again on the board. The trap was set, we let him catch it one time in order to increase his ego even more(sacrificed 10b in the process), hoping that in the weekend when everybody has more time, he will be dumb enough to launch again. Luckly for us, he took the bait, but this time we set the trap up on the planet so we would have full vision on it, right next ot his duals. I went afk once I've spotted the attack, we waited, he recalled his initial attack and once he saw minutes on my planet he launched again, the greed seem to have been to big. In order to not scare him away we let his attack go through (1b metal lost in the process), took him on return on both 100% and 90% and the rest is history. (he used a 500k DM general token trying to fool us with the speed, but didn't worked out and we catched him on 100% speed). Unfortunately we were not able to get the df due to Rya being on the phone, but that is not a problem, we were not in for the profit, but rather to teach KoK a lesson and to send a message :lol:

    Gameforge has a right to make money so no dark matter wouldn't really work. The main issue is the ability to purchase resource packs, that has made it too heavily pay to win

    Tbh I think this is a very big misconception. As somebody who works in this field, a server like Ogame isn't costing more than maybe 50$-100$ a month for Gameforge (battle calculations included), even less since I guess they have enterprise offers, and around 20e more for game operators. Even if a server is not producing money it still can be used in order to increase the player base, leading to players starting new servers where they will actually spend money (loss leader). Is just that the Gamefore are way to stiff in order to wiggle things around. We already have a chaos server, why can't we just have one server without DM ? :flowers:
