I understand expo slots because these are running permanently anyway. Fleet slots - less so.
Planet/moon fields - well you either already have a place to put them or you won't anyway.
But timering res bonuses and time reductions is just braindead.
you failed to mention the real useless stuff, like classes, especially alliance classes.
Fair, of course, player class changes are rare, and alliance class changes are even rarer. Forcing them to be used in a week makes them worthless, especially if you can't go back to your old class (because e.g. in the future you won't have the untimered changers anymore).

I actually laughed hard on this, you made a good point! They (=who are they?) rather kill the spirit of the game over a feature that they (= who are they?) added to make money when that feature is the source of the problem.
Once you figured out the answers to the questions I added into the quote above, you'll realize what the fundamental flaw in your logic is.

The only x1 war speed uni will be Universe 1 which is also x1 peaceful
Which is pretty dumb, considering we also have now Undae with peaceful x2 and Wurren with peaceful x4. All the other settings are the same or quite similar.
BUT NOOOO we cant merge these three together, we have to delete all unis that are good for peaceful game and keeping a healthy sleep cycle, and force them to merge into some shit settings.

Here i am enjoying a peacefull retirement at YIN to get my door knocked by some daylight robbers
YIN has probably the coolest settings for the casual and chilled gamer but for some reason is being forced to move to some shitshow settings universes
Surely has nothing to do with the fact YIN settings probably dont bring much money into someone's pockets x)

Yeah, same.
I definitely ain't going to ANY military speed uni. So the only one remaining is U1. Which has only 30% DF and no deut to DF. The peaceful speed was nice too,but it's less of a concern. Not to mention that all the whales are there, so it won't be a long life probably.

The base value storage capacity on a large cargo is 25,000 not 50,000
But who cares about base?

Also, with higher eco speed, you can get not only linearly more ships, but also better techs and lf techs, which make them even more effective.
Whales will probably have 100k+ capacity.

What is "new" player for you? A person who joined in the last 10 days and went inactive or did you consider all the players with 0 points sitting on the highscore as "new" player.
I cant speak for OP, but Im thinking of totally new accounts. The ones that keep uni count stable, despite old accs disappearing from inactivity or deletion.
Also you talk about a "30-25-25" player and then you talk about 0 points, so which is it?

Well, it's interesting.
For example on Yin, after a solid drop at some point the player count stabilized, despite still seeing disappearing accounts, even on the first highscore page sometimes.
Though I can also say I am a part of the reason of existence of such accounts. I sometimes join different unis to see the highscores, player counts, galaxy layout etc.
there are plenty of accounts that are older then 10 years.

Just ACS def to someone with half of your fleet and attack with another half, they should wipe eachother.
Or send a bit of strong ships for def and attack them in multiple waves. -
Say gravi 5, 5 DM per level, thats 9k over a year.
An equivalent of like two event expo finds or 20-30 normal ones.
With an income of 100-150k per month from expos, this is literally nothing for the price of gravi. -
