Talking of unnecessary, irrelevant, spurious messages, does anyone know how to get rid of these plse, they just duplicate existing messages .....
-
You should know by now that development is just another excuse for the developers to pamper their egos.
I suggested that all development should be suspended until all the bugs and lag has been eliminated - turns out that wasn't a suggestion and was downgraded lol.
Perhaps we should start asking other gimmicks so the devs do the opposite and actually give us something that enhances the game experience.
-
If only they would put the same effort into sorting the lag (which gets worse with every update) and fixing the bugs as they do filling the game with gimmicks.
This is not the way to increase the player base, in fact, just the opposite.

Like many, these days I am here for the camaraderie, and being retired, to fill in the idle hours in a day, but my enthusiasm is on the wain.
Ignoring the wallet brigade, we all know who they are - the majority have lots of points and limited skill, and when they do attack, it's like they bring a tank to a fist fight.
The main problem is inflicted on the non-wallet players who are restricted by the increasing lengths of time it takes to develop Astro and mines etc. Who want to tie up their research for 6 months or a year and in some cases even longer.
The non-wallet player reaches the point where the next level is out of his reach and most stagnate between 12 and 14 planets, and their enthusiasm for the game starts to decline. Something needs to be done to speed up the process. OK, the wallet brigade would benefit, but so what, they are always out of reach anyway.
The other problem that reduces player numbers in any one uni is the constant appearance of new unis.
Maybe all the newer unis should be merged into one and any new unis in the future have an end date - say 60 days - at which point the #1 account has the option to move to any uni of his choice or some decent rewards from GF for the top 3. HOWEVER such a uni would need some restrictions like 1 Res pack or 1 Res Refill per 7 days.
Finally, GF needs to put some serious effort into fixing the bugs, some of which have been around weeks or even months.
The game needs to be enjoyable, not a chore.
-
So basically you are saying - same old, same old - that nothing has changed, and to misquote Henry Ford - we can have anything we like as long as it is what GF gives us.
I have watched the decline of the game over the past 18 years due to the same blinkered approach. It needs a drastic change of attitude.
Stop all development and fix the existing problems before creating more.
-
This was the suggestion....
Might I respectfully suggest that GF put a temporary hold on all development, upgrades and updates and concentrate only on sorting all the existing problems/bugs before embarking on any further "improvements" to the game.

Especially reduce the lag which at times makes the game unplayable. I have high speed fibre optic cable so dread to think what it must be like on dial-up.
These are just some of the annoying niggles.....
Shipyard doesn't always reflect the res already spent.
2 different builds are not are not reflected in fleet screen so the second build gets left behind.
When launching "all fleet" often the recent arrivals get left behind, necessitating a recall and resend.
Lifeform research doesn't update for the next level when building a que.
And those pop up messages that tell you that something has or has not been done are totally unnecessary. I appreciate that GF has little regard for the players, but why oh why do we need telling twice when there is existing info that tells us already.
-
I know it is wishful thinking, but it is about time someone of senior level in Gamforge came here and explained the rational behind this latest disaster they hav foisted on us and to explain their future plans to destroy the game.
This latest fiasco is unnecessary, unwanted, unworkable and user unfriendly.
-
Why must they "fix" things that aint broken whilst not fixing those that are broken?
Seems like an ego trip to me to see how badly they can f**k things up.
-
Totally agree, Lacerta players need a consolation prize.
Also, long term benefit for GF, Lacerta could be an exodus in next round of mergers.

Hi revol
Sound advice as to your attitude to the game.
I have never in 16 years bothered about Rank or points.
I may, from time to time, look at the guy immediately above as a points target.
I tend to live in my own world concentrating on my alliance and friends for fun and enjoyment rather than concerning myself with what others are doing.
-
In the last 12 or so years, GF have become a one trick pony and as long as the money keeps flowing in, they have no reason to change, no reason to clean the game up, no reason to develop it to attract new players, and finally no reason to listen to the players.
The only way to change things is to either boycott new unis or boycott DM, and neither will happen as long as the sun rises each day.
To paraphrase Henry Ford - You can have anything you like as long as it is what GF give you lol.
