Well well well, Story time:
I came back to this game recently and started this server a month ago, and was surprised to see the state of the game, first week in, top 1 player had 124M points, others running around with 40k cr, some even having 100k BC. It blew my mind how much these people were spending on DM, it was like no one was playing for fun anymore.
Anyway, fast forward a few weeks, Senator Midas got my fleet, and posted it as a new top 1 hit. It was a difficult time for me, was getting a surgery and was in and out of the hospital all the time. Promised my ally mate ill get this guy sooner or later.
Weeks went by and i grew my miner account and had a small fleet to farm, Senator was a top fleeter with one of the biggest fleets in the uni and barely any points in mines. He launched on me a few times but recalled because he was scared of ACS def, other times i was online. Anyway moving forward to the last 24 hours, they were crazy, i was launched on by 4 different guys, was setting up baits here and there, and managed to ninja a part of one guy's fleet Nobunaga.
Fast forward a few hours later, im farming a bot that only sends out expos, and i get esp by 8 different players during my flight, and i didnt split my fleet and it was sent on 100% speed, i managed to get the bot's expos on return and made 450-500M profit, however, i kinda knew someone is definitely timing me back, was gonna recall but had a few backup plans.
So the hit on the bot lands, my fleet is returning, and there it was, someone i wasnt expecting locking my fleet 2 seconds after. I thought i will be returned by Demise, or even Nurgleth, or the Marsupia boys, but no, it was him, the guy who was terrorizing me and my ally mate Helldiver (shout out) since the beginning of the uni.
He did a pretty good job, send enough ships to get me and they were quite fast, my ACS defenders didnt have enough time to reach me. So i had around 19 mins to find a solution.
I had bought some DM earlier in the uni, turned on all officers for 3 months and bought mostly booster, never metal packs. This was the first time i was experimenting with these packs, felt like cheating. So i loaded a 100$ worth of DM and got the packs and started converting, probably messed it up a few times didnt even know how they work, and had to upgrade some storages. It was quite a messy 20 mins, and he even saw me transporting res here and there.
Initially was gonna que 200k BC but they were more expensive than i thought and didnt want to spend too much honestly, did a few sims and found out gausses were the cheapest and most convenient def to repel this guy.
20 secs till the hit, i started insta finishing 3 batches of 99k gauss, and kaboom, new number 1.
The hit felt dirty honestly, the guy did catch me fair and square, then again, everyone, including this guy, had 40k cr 1st week in the uni while i was still researching my astro lvl 1, so im comfortable with my actions. Gotta fight fire with fire sometimes.
Attacker asked me a few questions after and was quite shocked, i wished him GL in new uni, assuming his account was 70-80% in fleet and most of it is gone now.
Hit so dirty, so nasty, once it happened, i rolled over in my bed and lit a cigarette xD
Most of my losses were in def, and they were recovered, and i managed to get 3x 50k recyclers worth out of the total 175k recy, so i should have some profit just dont know how much.
Fr to the attacker, he is a good player, and we had a few chats and he wasnt toxic or anything. GL if he stays or starts the new uni.
