It has taken Microsoft, a much larger company, the need to introduce a brand new product (Windows 11) to alleviate their catastrophic update woes.

After a good decade and a half playing my one and only account here (and having used windows since 3.1.1) I notice the very same issues:

Add crap for the sake of being seen to be doing something and to a timeline that makes any meaningful testing moot.

IMO theres zero point in helping identify bugs. Instead merely take all stuff added to the game over the past several years and make a brand new game with it. Perhaps call it Ogame: playground edition where everyone wins.

I prefer the old days when this game was simple yet responsive. I used my brains and imagination to prevent myself being wiped out in one sitting. Risky was what made this attractive, daring and fun.

Instead we now have so much bloat that no wonder it takes an eternity to load everything for every click we make. And the bugs that come with every new feature stink to me of good intentions gone bad.

For some considerable time now I haven't been playing this game, I've just been existing for the sake of having grown my account for so long. I can't be bothered to farm inactives and I barely remember to do anything else than remind myself how sick I am of wasting my time clicking and waiting here.

Just my 2 cents I've been meaning to write for awhile now

My deepest sympathies to you matey.

I know how such a loss tends to knock the fight out of you. But I also know it opens a pathway to an inner strength and courage you never knew you had.

I'm sorry to see you leave, though it is important to mourn. It is also important to then move onto a new and happier path as time waits for nobody.

    All the best Carbon.

I recently took advantage of a Spacedock level courtesy of the reward Event system. Now on level 11 It increased my wreckfield portion to 38.50%. However further levels are essentialy blocked:

    Spacedock level 12 cost: 9.7 Bn Metal / 2.4 Bn Deuteriun / 1.2 Million energy / Wreckfield % 38.50

    Spacedock level 13 cost: 48 Bn Metal / 12 Bn Deuterium / 3 Million energy / Wreckfield % 38.50

    Spacedock level 14 cost: 240 Bn Metal / 60 Bn Deuterium / 7.5 Million energy / Wreckfield % 39.20

Firstly, I am required to spend 380 Billion resources to build three Spacedock levels in order to obtain a 0.7% increse in wreckfields. Nobody will do this as 380 Billion is hugely more effective spent on everything else.

Secondly, even if I wanted to obtain Level 14, it's an even bigger hurdle producing the energy. We all remember the solar sats needed to research Graviton Tech - Spacedock level 12 requires 4x this energy, Level 13 a further 10x. To obtain the wreckfield increase at Level 14 necessitates a staggering 25 times more enegy than Graviton!

I have Energy tech 21 / Fusion reator 25 / Solar plant 28 which produce 303 K energy. Collector, Commanding staff and Engineer increse this to 370 K energy. Add an 80% booster and my total output is 630 K

My next Fusion Reactor costs 3.4 Bn and I'll need at least a further 6 of them in addition to a few more Energy techs starting at 5 Bn. The fields required by Solar plants and the huge time building solar sats and their liability make them moot.

Clearly there is zero merit improving the Spacedock beyind Level 11. It costs over half a trillion resources for an extra 0.7% wreckfield.

I would like to suggest the wreckfield % be recalculated to perhaps be linear, or certainly more in line with the 5x increased resource investment each level.

Secondly the energy requirements clearly need addressing.

    Thanks.

My Plasma is 17 so not absurdly high, and thus it was an easy task for me to complete.

Messing about about with tickets and screenshotting stuff sounds like a tough one though :wink3:

A post made yesterday in the Game section:

As we received a lot of feedback that the tasks to research 'Plasma technology' and 'Computer technology' are a bit hard to fulfill (especially when you get them twice), we just changed those tasks. Instead of Plasma and Computer technology, players will have to research 'Intergalactic Research Network' and 'Laser technology' now. This change took effect at 14:00 CEST.

Imagine my surprise to have just opened up todays new events to find...

    Mad Scientist

    Start 1x Plasma Technology

I beg to differ. It's not the scientist who is mad here!

I have feeling somebody is checking am I online and its really stupid

    Thats a really interesting thought.

Certainly a log-out would be caused by ones account being logged into elsewhere...

I had suggested this be added as a task to the Reward event but alas it didn't go down to well.

Getting rewarded for something we're not supposed to like..... imagine that?!

Since the MP removal theres been suggestions of the impact on DM spent, The pushing angle, The possibility it had been causing the log-outs, General dislike of it, etc, etc.

I havent yet seen an official response from the developers that confirms it was removed for any particular reason - merely speculative responses and thus thought I'd throw my own in the pot :smoker:

Many of us typically have a research in progress that takes months - even after applying Technocrat and 25% events.

It's utterly absurd to have tasks neccesitating the need to clear the reseach queue within 24 hours in order to complete.

I'm all for introducing tough tasks, but ones that are tough in regards to gameplay, not this other nonsense.

The Collector class was too overpowered so two of its perks were removed. The simplest way to achieve this was removal of the market place. It will possibly return when the dev's have time to properly nerf the class, but don't quote me on this!

In Uni 1, Rewards page, Hovering over the ? box yields the following pop-up:

    New tasks at 14:00:00

    Event progress: day 1/12

To me, that suggests a 12 day event.

I can confirm that Commanding officers does allow the daily 1,000 Tritanium limit to be exceeded. This is kinda essential given the event is listed for 12 days and 12,500 Tritanium is required for Tier 5.

Fortunately there is a 4 day Commanding officer reward available, though that does mean one still needs to fulfill all but a couple of all tasks during the event. Therefore simply buying the Commanding staff seems the only way to get a bit of leaway, though theres 30k DM back in the extra rewards so it's not too bad.

I had to cancel a research in order to restart it to complete one of my tasks. However the reward for a IRN level and the technocrat bonus just about evens this out. Would have been a real kick in the teeth had my cancelled research been a massive astrophysics however.

My only niggles so far is that the only research reward is IRN and the only building reward is a Space dock....

... as a Collector the task of building 200 small cargo's is actually more useful to me :flowers:

In the last hour I first experienced the typical log-outs - a few of them in fact.

However now I've noticed selecting through my colonies to be very swift - last time the game felt this responsive was pre-MCO !!!

    Nice one

What I would like next is for the developers to abandon their policy of quantity over quality.

For the past 12 months we've endured the implementation of content for which theres been minimal testing and an ignorance of feedback. The result has been the most ridiculous bugs and unbalanced gameplay.

Right now the top priority ought to be addressing the most gamebreaking of bugs. Instead the dev's will have to prioritise whatever issues the forthcoming Reward System Event throws up - it's had barely a week on the test server so far?

This year really has been one for papering over the cracks alas.

Logouts are the same random event for me in uni 1.

The only thing different I've noticed is the time it takes to open 'Item Activation' from the Overview.

This now opens in 2-3 seconds whereas before it was painfully slow, around 5-6 seconds.

With barely 24 hours notice of the Marketplace being removed, this had all the traits of a typical GF rash decision.....

..... a bug preventing the collection of trades :headwall:

There are no messages therefore nothing to screenshot.

Unless you mean screenshot the list of transactions awaiting collection? - I have 50 of them...

    Should we all submit tickets?
