Board Guidelines
General terms and conditions
By registering on this forum you agree to follow these rules and any other rules specified throughout the forum sections.
The board rules were not written to cover every eventuality that might occur on the forum as they could not possibly account for every situation that will transpire.
As such, when a post is reported it is up to the discretion of the moderator to decide what to do, taking all factors into account before making a judgement call.

Global Rules

User Account Rules:
- Each player may have only one forum account.
- Usernames that can be considered offensive or breaches any of the guidelines within these rules are prohibited.
- Must not create a new account in the case you're not able to login to the Forum (in this case please contact the Forum Support).
- Account sharing (one account being accessed by multiple users) is prohibited.
- IP-Sharing: If 2 or more people share the same IP, a forum support ticket is required so a note can be put against the accounts otherwise there is a risk of receiving a multiple account ban.
- Multiple forum accounts may lead to a permanent ban, including both the original account and all subsequent multi accounts.
- Impersonating a staff member regardless of which team they belong to is strictly forbidden and will result in permanent ban. -
Forum Conduct:
- Good manners and respect to all forum users including Gameforge staff.
- Avoid using profanity towards other users and needless use of strong profanity in general.
- Avoid spam unless contributing towards a labelled spam thread.
- Please note users of all age and backgrounds use this forum and so this should be taken into account when contributing to the forum. -
Advertising and copyright:
- Advertising is prohibited and will result in immediate permanent ban.
- Copyrighted material is prohibited -
Moderator Discretion:
- Staff reserve the right to use discretion when moderating the forum and applying the rules.
- Staff reserve the right to edit and adjust inappropriate content including wording, links, pictures and all other forms of media. -
Rule Changes:
- Rules may change without notice.
- Amendments will be made clear however.
Posting in the forum
- All posts are required to be written in English.

Forbidden Posts and Topics:
- Spam / trolling / flaming / boycotting / discriminatory / defamatory / obscene / pornographic / religious / political / laws / degrading / racism / terrorism / cheats / selling accounts / malicious software / spreading viruses / phishing / illegal content / ban and moderation decisions / staff impersonation / posting for banned users / discussions negatively impacting forum atmosphere.
- This includes all forms of content (wording/links/pictures..) -
Links:
- Refrain from posting links not related to OGame.
- Discord invitation links to alliance and OGame focussed discords will only be permitted in the Diplomacy section of each universe. -
Relevant Posts:
- Ensure your post relates to the subject of the thread
- Do not re-open threads that a moderator has intentionally closed. -
Readability:
- Posts should be legible and coherent.
- Moderators reserve the right to edit posts for readability if necessary. -
Privacy & Correspondence :
- Avoid sharing personal information about yourself or anyone else.
- Do not share private correspondence from in game, forum or any other forms of communication without consent of all parties, consent ideally should be shared alongside the post. -
Thread Bumping:
- Avoid pushing threads (spam commenting multiple older threads) with intention to drop other threads down the list.
Sanctions
Players who violate the rules may receive forum warnings or direct bans at any time.
Temporary or permanent bans are determined on an individual basis. In the most severe cases, additional sanctions such as IP bans or bans from OGame or other Gameforge games may be applied.
Gameforge reserves the right to pursue legal action for law violations.
In general sanctions will work on this point system:
50 points - 1st ban - 7 days
100 points - 2nd ban - 15 days
150 points - 3rd ban - perma ban (no expiration date)
Taking into account moderator discretion, depending on the offense this may not always be the case.
After receiving a ban if you wish to contest please use the forum support ticket system: https://ogame.support.gameforge.com/index.php?fld=en
Do not discuss bans or staff decisions on the forum; use the forum support ticket system.
If a permanent ban is received, a second chance may be granted via the forum support at the discretion of the board administrators.
Granted second chances will come with a notice that further warnings will result in permanent ban with no future chances and potential in game account consequences depending on the offense.
Your board and game account in the eyes of Gameforge are seen as one.
Severe and or grossly repeated breaches of rules can result in in-game bans should the team deem it necessary.
This decision will never be taken lightly and will have required an escalated approval from Admins.
Miscellaneous
- Avatars: No avatars that could be considered offensive or breach any of the guidelines within the rules (please see 'Forbidden posts and topics' above for examples).
- Signatures: No Signatures that could be considered offensive or breach any of the guidelines within the rules (please see 'Forbidden posts and topics' above for examples).
